I’ve been a long time fan of The Body Shop, and for the last few years I’ve almost exclusively used their body washes and butters. I’m obsessed with their fragrances and I’m also totally on board with their prices. They regularly have deals on Groupon and in store they are always running a special. This past month I was clued in to a new launch they have with their Expert Facial Masks and I was lucky enough to get my hands on all five.
These five facial masks are sourced from across the globe and use Community Trade natural ingredients: rose petals, charcoal, green tea, honey, ginseng, acai, marula oil, and more. All five are 100% vegetarian and three are vegan (Himalayan Charcoal, British Rose, and Amazonian Acai). None of them contain parabens, silicone, mineral oil, or paraffin.
Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask: an indulgent, honey-textured moisturizing mask which nourishes and hydrates the skin. Key ingredients: Community Trade Honey from Ethiopia, Community Trade Marula Oil from Namibia, and Community Trade Olive Oil from Italy.
This was my favorite mask of the bunch. I apply this when I want my skin to be softer, smoother, and more hydrated. This has the best effect on my dry skin and I love that despite being a honey mask it’s not overly sticky.
British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask: a refreshing gel-textured moisturizing mask that nourishes and hydrates your skin. Key Ingredients: Rose petals and essence of hand-picked roses from Britain, Rosehip oil from Chile, Community Trade Aloe Vera from Mexico.
This mask has the most amazing, fresh scent and I love how much moisture it brings to my skin. This is such a treat to apply and my skin looks refreshed and more alive and dewy after I use this.
Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask: a beautifying mud-textured exfoliating mask. Key Ingredients: Bamboo Charcoal from Himalayan foothills, Community Trade Tea Tree Oil from Kenya, Green Tea Leaves from Japan.
Typically, a mud mask would be too dehydrating for my skin, but when I felt a breakout coming on earlier this week, I loved using this. I only leave it on for a few minutes. I feel a bit of a tingle on my skin, and as I wash it off it exfoliates my face. I’m left with very soft skin that feels deeply cleansed.
Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask: a creamy, facial exfoliating mask that brightens and revitalizes skin. Key Ingredients: Ginseng and Rice Extract from China, Community Trade Sesame Oil from Nicaragua.
Usually a clarifying mask would be too drying for my skin, but this one is just perfect. I use this on days that I wakeup with a breakout and it really helps to balance and smooth out my skin.
Amazonian Acai Energizing Radiance Mask: an exfoliating gel facial mask that revives and energizes the skin. Key Ingredients: Acai berry, Guarana seed extract, Community Trade Babassu Oil from Brazil.
This one is another one of my favorites. I love the gel texture and how it instantly seems to brighten my skin. Makeup goes on beautifully after I use this!
All in all, I’m so glad I discovered these. There’s not a dud in the bunch. I have gotten into the habit of applying a mask right before I want to do my makeup at the beginning of the day, and trust me when I say it’s a total game changer. I love how fresh, dewy, and balanced my skin looks and feels right after masking and it leaves me with the perfect canvas to do my makeup right after. Honey and Acai are my favorite two masks but I love them all! I find the quality to be right on par with the FarmHouse Fresh masks, which are my all time favorites.
Have you seen these in store or online? Have you indulged? I’d love to hear about your favorite!
