Citrus is not the type of scent most people associate with cold weather. That’s one of the reasons I love it so much in November. It’s a bit unexpected. I also love my warm, delicious amber and vanilla musk scents, but a good citrus can be really refreshing and different on with your skin’s chemistry when paired with cooler weather. When I want to mix it up in the winter, these are four scents I will be reaching for!

1) Laura Mercier Verbena InfusionGreen citrus, spearmint, fresh blossoms, white amber and cedarwood. This fragrance is sparkling and fresh and full of energy. This is the scent that got me turned on to Laura Mercier scents. I’ve reviewed the body wash here which is just as delightful of an experience to use.

2) Rouge Bunny Rouge Muse- Bergamot, freesia, gardenia, green leaves, jasmin absolute, jasmin sambac, labdanum, moss, musk, amber gris, cedarwood, agarwood. This list of notes is long, which is probably one of the reasons this fragrance is so complex. There are so many layers to this fragrance and different parts come alive for me during the day. It is a unique high end fragrance and you won’t find something quite like it anywhere. The one part that my skin chemistry brings out the most is the green leaves. It smells so incredibly green to me. I asked my hubby to confirm that this scent belonged in the citrus family and at least on my skin, it definitely does!

3) Clinique Calyx- Grapefruit, Mandarin, Passion Fruit, Mango, Papaya, Freesia, Muguet, Neroli, Lily, Jasmine, Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Vetiver. This is a really striking fragrance. It’s crisp and smells like a combination of grapefruit and oranges on me. I’ve heard this used to be a Prescriptives fragrance that was brought back by Clinique.

4) L’Occitane Verbena: Lemon, Orange, Verbena, Petit Grain, Rose, Geranium- If I’ve written about this once I’ve written about it a hundred times here. This is Old Faithful to me. It’s sparkling and fresh and rejuvenating. I fall in love with it every time I go into the L’Occitane store because this is what they spray on all the bags.

I love me some citrus on a snowy day! How about you?

L’occitane Verbena is one of my absolute favorite scents ever. So lovely especially if you’re sensitive to fragrance. I’ve tried the Laura Mercier verbena body scrub and absolutely love it too although I haven’t tried the perfume. Citrus is one of my faves!

The citrus fragrances are more my style. I’m not into floral scents as far as perfume goes.

I love citrus scents especially in bath & body. Gotta try a citrus scent to see if it will stay on my skin without fading in 5 minutes. Clinique’s Calyx is a classic!
