Makeup and beauty products have come a LONG way in recent years. I don’t remember having half the selection to choose from when I was a teenager. It can be overwhelming, but it can also be fun. I find so many new favorites all the time, and for someone who has so many beauty products I actually LOVE when I get the chance to repurchase things. If I run out of something and can’t just sub it out for something else, it means I’ve found an amazing enough product that I can’t live without it. Each and every thing on this list I’ve owned multiple times.
Here are some of my all time favorites!
Natural deodorant: I detoxed my pits a few years back and I haven’t looked back. I work out five days a week, so anything I use has to be able to hold up to lots of sweat. So far, the best natural deo I have found has been by Kaia Naturals, Piper Wai, and Wild Roots.
Lipsense: I don’t wear it every day but when I want something on my lips that’s not high maintenance, I’m always reaching for this. Before discovering Lipsense, if you asked me if I liked high shine lipstick the answer was NO. But I’ve come to love being able to wear any lip shade under the sun and know that it will stick around all day.
Beauty Blender: This one is a no brainer. I’m completely obsessed with this beauty sponge. At $20 a pop, it may seem like a pricey investment, but I promise if you use it correctly, you’ll wonder why you haven’t had it in your life sooner. I wouldn’t trust anything else to blend out my foundation.
Nontoxic perfume: I stopped wearing most conventional perfumes a few years ago when I was nursing, and I’ve never looked back. I love wearing unique, less toxic scents. My favorite two scents of the moment are Hanami by Phlur and Sun by Zents.
Scalp balancing products: Nothing’s worse than dandruff when you have dark hair. I am so glad I found the Pramasana line by Aveda. I continue to use it all the time and love that it works no matter what shampoo and conditioner I am currently using.
Dr. Bronner’s All One: I have been using this body wash for over ten years and I still come back to it every time I try something new. I was hooked on peppermint forever, but I’ve been living for almond for the last year or two!
Wet Brush: I don’t think I could live without my Wet Brush. I certainly couldn’t be raising three girls without them either! Nothing works better on tangles. Nothing!
Saints & Sinners: I used It’s a 10 for years because I didn’t think anything else would prove to be as effective. I was thrilled to run across something that reminded me of the brand but with much healthier ingredients. I’m so glad I found Saints & Sinners Leave in Conditioner. I’ve gotten so many friends hooked on the line too!
Farmacy Honey Savior: I don’t think I could have lived without this when I was battling terrible dermatitis on my eyelids. I’ve continued to use it and I won’t be without it. It has a consistency that reminds me of Vaseline, but it’s so much healthier for my skin, and has helped me heal up so quickly!
I use so many other products on a regular basis, but these are truly the best of the best. Tell me in the comments: what are your ride or die products? I’d love to hear all about them!
