One of my favorite beauty subscriptions to receive in the mail monthly is Beauty Box 5. If you’re not aware, it’s a monthly subscription service that delivers 5 cosmetic samples to your door for $12 a month. I’ve had some great boxes with them so far, and this month was no exception!
I was really excited to see that most of the products I was sent this go around were makeup! I have been really excited to pull out the Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer sample as soon as I saw it. I am a long time fan of this product but haven’t purchased it in a couple years. That may soon be changing!
The Blum All-Purpose Cleansing Wipes were an exciting discovery in my box as well. If you read my blog, you know I just moved and I’m kind of couch-surfing with family right now. I thought my mom had bought diapers and wipes for us before we arrived yesterday, and I was wrong. I also realized with the warm weather that I forgot hair ties to put my hair up with. I am realizing I can’t find things I swear I packed, and everything is kind of a mess right now. I’m so glad I was able to get these wipes in my BB5, that hang so nicely from my purse on a chain. I will not misplace them!
This lipstick and liner were another exciting discovery! I am a long time fan of Bonne Bell products. In my hometown, my mom lives near a Target and I used to go there with friends every weekend, just for something to do. Every time I would stop by, I would buy a new Bonne Bell chapstick. I remember that Dr. Pepper was my favorite! I have not previously heard of the brand Nicka K New York, but it’s remarkable how well Bonne Bell’s Rose Cendré lip definer and Nicka K New York’s Concerto lipstick match!
I wore these shades layered when I tested them out, while I was moving boxes and sweating, and they lasted several hours. I even saw a trace of them left over when I was finished eating dinner. That’s a win in my book!
I’ve heard of BH Cosmetics, but haven’t had a chance to try them yet. I was super excited to see this California Collection eye shadow palette in my BB5. I love trying out new eyeshadows, and looking at these shades left me drooling!
I am in love with the Malibu shade. It is a very vibrant true gold. Unfortunately, in application they left something to be desired. I found that even when swatched heavily, Malibu was the only shade that maintained its vibrancy. The other shades seemed a little patchy and a lot lighter than depicted in the pan.
As you can see, they’re still gorgeous shades, but I would have expected San Francisco to show up a lot darker. These finger swatches were taken after several digs into the pan and I still wasn’t able to get much product to transfer. Gporg
