Months ago, I tested out a couple different versions of a fragrance Phlur was coming out with. At the time, it was going by the name “Scent X” and as of today, it’s available to the public and goes by the name Améline. I am excited to tell you about one of my favorite fragrances ever. Read on for my review of Phlur Améline!
If you want to try Améline for yourself, get a month’s worth of fragrance in a sampler here for $13 (that’s $5 off for clicking here!) And apply the full $18 towards a full sized bottle once you decide you love it. Add Améline, Sandara, and Hanami if you want my top 3 recommendations!
Since I became interested in natural and organic fragrances, I haven’t been able to wear complex scents. Usually vanilla, coconut, and other essential oil notes are where the variety ends in the green beauty world. Phlur came on the scene and changed all of that. Their fragrances are hypoallergenic, cruelty-free, vegan, and sustainably sourced and packaged with recycled materials.
Wonder why sustainability matters? Think about how much a bottle of rose oil costs. The real thing can cost hundreds of dollars! It can take around 10,000 roses to fill a single 5 mL bottle of rose oil. Not only is that expensive, but it’s unnecessary to take that many plants from our environment when we can lab create safe synthetics.
Améline is a special scent because it combines notes of rose, Italian bergamot, pink pepper, patchouli and sandalwood. The result is something fresh, beautiful, complex, and feminine that I would never imagine could’ve been non-toxic. Before I was interested in healthy perfumes, I used to love scents that were fresh, bright, and sugary. Think Aquolina Pink Sugar or Ralph Lauren Romance. I never thought I’d get to wear a clean scent that had so much femininity and grace and didn’t smell like a coconut. Some of my other favorite scents by Phlur have been Hanami, Siano, and Sandara. Améline is becoming a quick favorite to my rotation as well.
Since I got to give my feedback while this was in development, I tried two varieties of this scent. They were very close and the final version ended up being a combination of the two. It’s seriously lovely and I’m obsessed!
