L’Occitane Imortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Program & Giveaway

I get super excited about L’Occitane products. They are one of my favorite brands for fragrance and skincare, and I am straight up ADDICTED to Immortelle everything, so imagine my sheer joy when I learned L’Occitane was coming out with a 28 Day Divine Renewal Program containing all that Immortelle goodness. I was thrilled to have the chance to try it!

To give you a little backstory on how this program works, it is designed as a 28-day regimen to work in harmony with your skin’s natural renewal process. Normal epidermal cells naturally renew every 28 days, helping the skin look healthy and glowing, but stress and external aggressors disrupt the process, increasing skin’s susceptibility to aging. Every night has its own single-dose capsule to break open and use on the face and decollate. I can attest that each dose had plenty more than enough for the face and neck, but I was glad that I had more than I was expecting. It encouraged me to really use it down my neck, where I often forget to use anti-aging products.

28 day divine oilEach of the single doses contains 1 ml. of the Immortelle Essential Oil and a blend of botanical ingredients. I’ll walk you through what is included in each week’s regimen and how I felt it was working for me!

But first, I want to let you know a little bit more about my skin, I am 28 and have taken pretty good care of my skin so far. I have some issues with freckles, or what I thought were freckles that I now think are the beginnings of age spots. I have issues with dryness year round, and lately I’m battling redness. My fine lines look worse than they really are when my skin is dehydrated like it gets in the winter. I mostly just feel old when I look at my before picture down below.

I used these every night for 28 days after cleansing my face and stayed consistent with the rest of my skincare routine during that time. The system can be used alone or with the rest of your skincare routine, and I probably did moisturizer half the time and just the 28 Day system the other half of the time.

Week 1: Gentle Exfoliation: Pistacia lentiscus or “Mastic Tree” essential oil gently exfoliates the skin by contributing to the natural shedding of the skin, leaving the skin more soft and smooth.

Gentle exfoliation? My first impression was that the little foil pods contained a great deal of liquid in them, probably 2-3 times what I felt I really needed. I rubbed it into my face and neck repeatedly, and after about 15 seconds of rubbing, it was mostly absorbed. The texture was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced- almost a gritty oil. There were no exfoliating beads, but there was definitely something in the oil that was not as moisturizing as I have come to expect from a facial oil. By day 5, my skin was feeling drier than normal and by day 7 I had an actual dry patch on my cheek despite the fact that my face was pretty soft otherwise.

Week 2: Hydration & Nutrition: A unique blend of 4 vegetable oils, combined with cistus essential oil, help nourish and hydrate skin.

This still had a bit of the gritty oil feel of the first week, but felt less that way and more smooth. It was way more hydrating than the previous week and my skin really started to feel like it was recouping some of the moisture I felt I lost in the first week.

Week 3: Balance: Myrtle and Rosemary essential oils, with rebalancing properties, contribute to the overall well-being of the skin.

My skin was really starting to feel great by the time week 3 rolled around. With every passing week the formula seemed to be a little different, but still doing great things to my skin. My skin felt really hydrated during this week and overall it seemed to be smoother, my skin tone becoming less red and evening out, and even a little bit firmer!

Week 4: Renewal: Carrot, Cypress and Immortelle essential oil provide a solution to the visible signs of aging for a glowing complexion.

By the time week 4 was beginning, my skin was starting to get some glow. I don’t wear makeup every day but on the days I did I felt like I didn’t even need highlighter because I actually had that lit-from-within glow about me. No lie! I rarely feel like my skin is glowing in the winter, because it’s usually so parched, but the oil system really seemed to smooth out my fine lines and plump my skin up, while really helping my skin look and feel nourished from the inside out. I was very happy with my results!

l'occitane 28 day divine oil programFor my before/after pictures I stepped into some unflattering light to show you what the difference would be. I was in a hurry yesterday when I was taking my after picture, so it’s not the exact same lighting situation as the first day, but you get the gist. My “before” has red and patchy skin, especially around my nose, and the texture is very dull. In my “after” pic, some of my redness has lightened up and my looks like it has some moisture to it without looking greasy.

before 28 day l'occitane kitl'occitane 28 day after All in all, I was really happy with this system! It launches February 18th at L’Occitane boutiques and on their website and retails at $130.

Would I purchase it to use again? I have to say, yes, I would. I love everything about the Immortelle oil and this system smells like it (when are they going to bottle it as a fragrance?!) and works really well. I don’t think this is something you would use year round. It would be kind of like a cleanse- you do those every few months to jump start your body, and you would probably do one of these systems a couple times a year to rejuvenate your skin. If I was going to be in a wedding or had a special event coming up, that would make this a worthy splurge for me! In the meantime, I have rekindled my love for facial oils, and have been using them again. It makes a world of difference to my skin to use oils in my routine!

I am so curious how well this would work on my skin in the summer. I feel like the skincare I use in the winter takes me from parched to balanced, but in the summer my skin is usually pretty balanced already. How much better could this system get my skin looking then? Would you try something like this?

I also want to give one lucky person residing in the US a chance to win this system- enter below! Thanks for participating!

What an interesting concept? I’m confused about one thing…do you use these in addition to your regular moisturizer/anti-aging products or instead of? And I’m curious about what was that gritty feeling that you felt in the oils during the first two weeks?

It’s hard to describe- it’s still an oil but it’s got exfoliating properties in it. It spread on my face like an oil, but as I was rubbing it in, it wasn’t all smooth and soft- it had some sort of exfoliation going on at the same time!

And I used this just at night, and some nights I used moisturizer with it, other nights I just used it by itself.

I haven’t tried too much from the brand other than the Almond Oil Shower Oil and quite a few different scents of the hand creams but I do love both products. Would love to give more of their skincare a try.

I haven’t actually owned any L’Occitane products but have used their hand cream on numerous occasions. They’ve been a line I’ve wanted to use for a while but I have a bunch of skincare I need to use first!

This sounds amazing, except for that first week dryness. I have oily skin, though, so I wonder if I would still get that dryness.

I love L’occitane too–you got great results. I can definitely see less redness in your skin.
