Easy breezy summer makeup usually has just a few steps. When I keep it low maintenance often times I’ll just grab for a quick foundation, all-in-one palette, mascara and lip gloss. Luckily there are tons of really great lip gloss (and shiny lip balm) formulas out there that will work for you whether you’re hoping for a sheer tint or something with a lot more color.

In recent years, matte lips have been really in but I think glossy lips are definitely making a comeback right now! There are so many great options out there right now that I really wanted to share my favorite options with you all. Here’s a list of the best I know of, and please let me know if I missed one that you love!

Clinique has lots of options for lip balm and gloss! I just wrote about their Pep Start lip balms the other day and they are a great hydrating option that comes in sheer and more vibrantly tinted shades. I also enjoy their Chubby Stick formulation. I’ve owned a ton of these over the years; at one point I owned all the shades in the line! They have sheer and intense versions and all are very nice and glossy.

Fresh is an amazing skin and lip care line and they can do no wrong when it comes to lip balms. I really love their Sugar Lip Treatment with SPF 15. They’ve rolled out a bunch of shades in recent years but some of my favorites are their nude options. Petal, Honey, and Nude are some of my favorites! This is technically a lip balm (they have lip glosses too) but they make my lips glossy enough that I thought it qualified.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Lip Oil is a super hydrating lip serum/oil that comes in two shades- clear or a light pink. This is the perfect little lippie to put in your pocket or purse because it’s so easy to wear. It mostly just makes my lips look a little fresher, a little plumper, and a little more healthy. You can wear this by itself or layer something else on top.

Jane Iredale PureGloss Lip Gloss is a really nice super glossy formula. I love how super glossy these are from all the oils they have- avocado oil, sunflower seed oil, and moringa oil just to name a few! This formula also doesn’t contain petroleum like many glosses do. I really admire Jane Iredale as a more natural brand. Makeup launches from them are some of my absolute favorites!

One of my all time favorite glossy lip formulas is Buxom’s Full-On Lip Cream. I’ve been using these for ages. I remember way back when I had my first real job, I would splurge on gift sets from Buxom, and the lip shades that would come in the set would be all I would wear until they ran out. Back then, White Russian was my favorite shade. They’ve since come out with many other shades. The Full-On Lip Creams are a creamy no-shimmer gloss and they have a fair amount of color payoff too! It’s just a tad sticky but with that it’s also longer wearing than most of the glosses I own.

Dior Addict Lip Glow in Coral is an old favorite that I just stumbled upon in a diaper bag the other day. I forgot how much I love this! It’s lightly tinted and goes on really buttery smooth. It flatters everything I pair with it and coral is a great summery shade. It looks so good with a tan!

Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint is a very pretty, high shine lip gloss. I am really liking Double Tap, a rosy nude. The finish on these is like a lacquer. Very shiny! So pretty! I can’t get enough of Tarte’s lippies to be honest. They do a really nice job with all their formulas. Whether it’s dark, nude, or bright, I always like their shade ranges and they flatter so well!

Pixi by Petra Gel Tint and Silk Glosses have a stain on one end and a gloss on the other. I find these subtle but very pretty. The stain is longer wearing, and the gloss needs to be reapplied. Better yet, these can be picked up on a run to Target. Lord knows I need more in my shopping cart there! #takemymoney

Lipsense is making the rounds as a popular gloss option these days. You need at least one color in your life. More if you like to layer! You top these with a glossy top coat (or a matte one if you’d like) and the shade is budgeproof forevvvveeeerrrrr. Literally, you have to remove it if you want it gone. I reviewed them here if you want to know my thoughts.

Nothing beats a healthy looking glossy lip. I think it adds so much vibrance and youth to my face when I slap on a lipgloss. I gave you so many fun options if you are in the mood to shop for a new one for yourself. Which is your favorite, did I list it? Tell me all about your faves in the comments section!

I just received a Chubby Stick but the shade wasn’t quite right. I like opaque glosses. My faves are from PUR, Tarte & Estee Lauder

I love lip gloss this time of year. It’s so easy to slick it on, pop it in my bag and go.

Even when I wear a matte lip I end up putting a gloss over it by day’s end. They are just so comfortable. Of your list I’ve only tried the Pixi, LipSense, Buxom, and Dior and liked them all.
