Anyone else obsessed with their toothpaste? 🙋🏻‍♀️ since I’ve already gone through about six tubes of @twice I figured it was time to share. This is totally affordable, has great ingredients and your purchase allows disadvantaged people in the Bahamas much-needed access to dental care.

I love that I’m so extra I have one flavor for day and one for night. 😂😁🥰 Try it for yourself and figure out what all the hype is about!

Scent is so comforting to me and lets face it, in light of what is going on in the world, we could all use a touch of comfort right now. Sol Cheirosa ‘62 by @soldejaneiro has been the scent of my summer. In Brazil, cheirosa literally means you smell incredibly delicious.

Salted caramel, pistachio, jasmine petals, and vanilla combine and if you like a single one of those scents you need this in your shopping cart. I have this in every form it comes in! Every time I spritz it I’m taken away to a tropical paradise in my mind and almost forget that’s so far from reality it’s not even funny because not even our local pool is open right now. 😂😭🤪 Read more:

Long time no talk! I’ve taken a couple weeks off

Long time no talk! I’ve taken a couple weeks off of social media to regroup and rest and honestly just THINK. There is so much going on in the world right now. I’m writing this while waiting in line at a grocery store, wearing a mask, standing a respectable distance away from everyone else. The things that made me panic three months ago are commonplace now. Like buying homeschool materials online for Fall already because you just never know.

We took a couples trip last year and I so wish I knew at the time that would be the last big trip we would be taking for the foreseeable future. I find myself scrolling my phone album to relive memories when the world was a bit easier of a place, and traveling by plane was not such a mess.

I have been ordering lots of stuff online recently

I have been ordering lots of stuff online recently because it’s so hard to find what I need in the stores when they are picked over! One of the things on my list was a new razor. I have been thinking about trying @billie razors for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I was excited to try these for a few reasons: they send them right to your door when you need a new razor, and they come with a travel container. Most of the cheap razors I have bought in the past do not come with an easy way to store them for travel. I also decided to splurge on some of their shaving cream. I usually use body wash for shaving but it was worth picking this up because it gave me a much smoother shave. Overall I’ve been super happy with this razor and shaving cream and I’m going to keep subscribing.

Now that we are almost halfway into May (!!!) I wanted to catch up and share my favorite book finds from April. I only read two books but they were both sooo good.

My first one was Open Book by @jessicasimpson. I feel like we would be real life BFF if we knew each other. You know the feeling when you have always admired a celebrity and then learn more about them as a person and like them even more? This was that. Even if you don’t follow juicy celeb gossip I think you’ll love this book. Jessica is super relatable and sentimental and I loved reading about her journey.

I also read Untamed by @glennondoyle. I’ve been reading everything she has written since she was blogging at Momastery. All of her books have been gold but this has been my favorite of anything she has written. Wow, I didn’t know I needed this right now but I am so happy I did. I’ve been listening a lot more to my inner voice and it’s been serving me well. It was amazing timing to be reading this during the pandemic.

The @chihaircare x Barbie collection is everything

This has been a hard week. I am doing ok, then I’m not, repeat cycle. Sometimes several times in one day. I am trying to find a way to get a grip of what the world is like now but also try not to think about too hard, at the same time. Here we are at 2 pm on Sunday and I have yet to fold laundry that has been staring at me all week and the only productive thing I’ve accomplished all weekend has been grocery shopping yesterday. Even something simple that I used to enjoy is now an anxiety ridden task where I can’t breathe well behind a mask, which triggers me to panic and start sweating profusely.

Enough about all that...there is still a day ahead of me salvage. The next up on my to do list today is to shower with my @skylar body wash and then slather up with lotion. I’ve been reaching for more creature comforts lately that remind me of my childhood. This Coral scent reminds me so much of a non-toxic version of Victoria’s Secret Pink that I used to wear all the time in high school. Maybe I’ll do an entirely separate post on things that I’ve been doing lately that I NEVER usually do but they remind me of simpler times and have been helping me in odd ways to get through.

The best shape I ever was in my life was when I was in college, and would sometimes run miles a day. I would just run, not paying much attention to where I was going. I wouldn’t listen to music, I wouldn’t track my miles, I would just go. This was before the time of smart phones and Apple watches. Simpler times!

I remember one time I took a midday run and had lost track of time. At one point I realized I was completely across town and had to be at band practice in an hour! I had to wander into a nearby store and ask to use their phone to call for a ride. 😂 Now that we have better technology available to us, I’ve found it hard to work out without the digital recognition of calories burned and distance traveled. I also go a little batty if I’m not listening to music when I go. It is amazing to be so connected, but also not. Love/hate.

Yesterday I decided there was never going to be a better time to reconnect to old parts of me like running. So I grabbed all of my technology, and when I was about to hit the road, Jocelyn asked to join me. At first I was a little bummed not to get the alone time but then I became excited at the prospect of connecting with her in that way. In 40 minutes we covered about 2.6 miles of ground, before having to be “rescued.” Hopefully next time we both become a little faster and don’t stop so many times to adjust our shared EarPods and play lists. I have a little Maroon 5 fan on my hands. Her love was discovered when she asked Alexa for a song about animals with no naughty words. 🤣🥰 Send me your favorite playlist recommendations and tips for working out with your kids but still getting a great workout in yourself. 🤩
