Thank you Olay for partnering for today’s post. All opinions are my own.
Last week I wrote about Olay Daily Facials and mentioned that I was trying another skincare item from them that I was excited about. Today I want to talk to you about an anti aging skin cream that I found that I am really enjoying: the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream.
I try hundreds of makeup and beauty products every year as a product reviewer, and I’ll be honest. A lot of them are wonderful. I have a penchant for the high end and pricy stuff, and often that’s what ends up being featured on the blog. Friends often ask me what I would recommend for dry skin or for anti aging, and although I always have an answer, often it’s not something they could afford. A lot of people can’t budget for a $100 face cream as a recurring purchase.
The good news is if you know where to look, you don’t have to pay top dollar to take good care of your skin. You can find something at your local drug store that works just as well as something from the department store. The Good Housekeeping Institute just came out with a blind consumer study comparing 10 prestige face creams ranging in price from $26-$440 against the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. They tested many different facets of the products including how fast-acting they were, how long-lasting the hydration was, how lightweight the texture was, and how firming and plumping the ingredients were. Olay came out on top in every category, outperforming even the most expensive face creams!
When looking for an anti-aging face cream, what should we be looking for? Ingredients are the key to whether a product will work. I am always looking at the back of the label to see what the key ingredients are. Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream has some powerful ingredients that hydrate, plump, and aid in anti-aging. There are several but some of the more popular ones are Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B3 and Carob Seed Extract. Luckily, 80% of skin’s anti-aging destiny is within our control and not related to genes. Although my genetics may have dictated my dry skin, I have the power to nourish it and keep it looking young, and I don’t have to shell out the big bucks to do so!
I’ve been using this cream for a couple weeks and I am ready to share my results. I admittedly take pretty good care of my skin already, so these are not extreme results. I’ll note a few things that I was very pleased with. First, I loved the rich and high end feel of this cream on my skin and how deeply nourishing it was despite being so lightweight in application. Second, I haven’t used it very long but the results were quick. If I apply it before bed, my skin already feels firmer, plumper, and deeply hydrated by morning. Usually it takes days before I have an opinion either way on a face cream. Third, I’ve found that in the summer I can use it by itself and ditch my serum and eye cream and still wake up with great skin. I love the idea that I can cut corners on my skincare and still have great skin!
My usual skincare routine this summer has included just a few items. I will cleanse with either the Olay Daily Facials or a gentle cleanser. A couple times a week I use an exfoliating rice powder or a charcoal mask followed up by some rosehip oil, and of course morning and night I am using the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. If you follow me on Instagram stories you can get sneak peeks of some of the products I am trying out before they ever hit my blog.
What kind of skin cream do you use? What results are you looking for? Have you tried Olay?
