We are going on a road trip to Disney World soon and I’m eagerly packing way in advance. I keep thinking of things I don’t want to forget, so packing early is easing a lot of my anxiety about the trip. Since we’ll be on the road for almost 20 hours plus stops each direction, I wanted to make sure I packed the best road trippin’ stuff I could find. Best yet, every single thing on this list is available on Amazon.com!

DVD players for the van– I know that when we’re home my kids love to watch tv when I let them, so I figure I’ll let them zone out on the road to their favorite Disney movies to prep them for the trip. This isn’t something I thought we would be able to splurge on but a friend gifted an old set to me, and when I looked them up online I realized they’re not even that expensive! I’m not sure why I thought they would be!

Wet Wipes– We normally buy our wet wipes at Costco, but I don’t know if I’ll make it out there again before we leave on our trip. When I checked to see if I could get them Amazon Prime’d to my house, I discovered that Amazon has their own wipes that they created based upon reader feedback. They’re in my cart right now!

Car games– I have busy bags for the kids and I hope to play the alphabet game with them while we are driving, but we hope to drive through the night when they are sleeping too. Our conversation is always taken up with kids and money when we’re on the road but for once I’d like to change it up. I found some “how well do you know your husband/wife” cards that I’m excited to use that I hope will keep us up when we are driving through the night. There are questions in there I’m sure wouldn’t come up in regular conversation and when I threw a few of them at my husband he had a good chuckle. I ended up buying both the husband and the wife set as well as another set I saw

License Plate Game– I loved playing this game when I was a kid. The jist of it if you don’t know what I’m talking about is identifying license plates from as many states as possible. My kids may be too young to appreciate this at the moment so if I don’t purchase this, I might just print out an adult chart for myself! If your kids are old enough to understand that cars come from different states and know how to read to tell the difference, this would be so cool!

Potty seat– The hard thing about driving straight through is going to be stretching out and needing a potty break. We plan to stop during the waking hours every couple hours for the kids to run around. In the meantime, if the kids need to stop and use a bathroom, I don’t want to have to wait until the next town. When you gotta go, you gotta go! We have two still in diapers, and we’re actively potty training our two year old at the moment so I’d like to have the luxury to pull over to the side of the road, put a disposable potty seat cover down and be able to get back on the road right away.

Cooler with snacks– If you’ve been following my MSPI journey, you know I’ve had a limited diet in recent months. I can’t have milk or soy or it will make the baby sick as long as I’m nursing her. I’ve had to completely clean up my diet and eating on the go can be a challenge. I plan to pack car snacks in a cooler. I chose a padded one because you can bring one onto the Disney grounds!

Playlist– I’m always stuck listening to children’s music in the van so I know pretty much every kid’s song known to man. On this trip though, I want to listen to whatever the adults want since the kids will have their movies going. I’m constantly amazed by all the cool things you can get with Amazon Prime, but I just recently discovered you can listen to unlimited music for $7.99 month or for $79 per year. There’s a free 30 day trial so I hope to activate it right before our trip to determine if it’s worth it to us!

Kid Water Bottles– Especially with the extreme change in temperature we will be experiencing from going from WI to FL in a short time period, I want to keep everyone well hydrated. I don’t want anyone getting sick from lack of fluids so I will be pushing water while we’re on the road. These aluminum water bottles featuring Elsa and Anna are cheap compared to what I’ve seen similar things priced in store. They’re going right into my Amazon shopping cart for this trip!

Change for the tolls– The route we’re traveling has several stops for tolls. I plan to stop at the bank before we leave to get coins for penny pressing and also money for the tolls. I want to keep the van uber organized on this trip so I’m going to get a little change pouch to store everything in. I can’t resist how cute these emoji ones are and they’re cheap too!

That about sums up what we are bringing for the road trip portion. Of course, we’ll have our suitcases filled with things for the parks and the beach and the hotel as well. What do you pack on a long car drive? I’d love to hear any tips or tricks you can think of. Let me know if you’re interested in knowing what I put in my kids’ busy bags too and I’ll write another post!
