Although it’s easy to go overboard on holiday exclusive makeup launches, this year I am being picky with what I will allow into my makeup collection. One brand I haven’t visited in quite a while is Too Faced, and for no good reason! I love their formulas and I used to buy almost every new or limited edition eyeshadow palette they came out with. One of their Ulta Exclusives this year is the Merry Macarons collection, that I have to share with you today!

too-faced-christmas-in-new-york-merry-macarons-2Of all the different holiday releases from Too Faced this year, this set was my favorite! It’s the perfect size palette at the perfect price. You are getting 12 shades of eyeshadow and a deluxe size of Better Than Sex Mascara for only $39 and it is a $153 value. Not too shabby! The packaging is adorable and features a New York ice-skating rink as part of a pop up picture as well as the products enclosed within. The palette itself is slim and is easy to store and travel with.

I am all about the shimmer at the moment, and I am always all about the purples, and this palette has both. Another thing I dig is the assortment of matte brown shades to choose from. This palette has four! I use a matte brown in my crease every day so I love that there are a lot of options to mix and match. The mattes blend really well and I haven’t found that any of them are patchy and the shimmers show up really well and can be layered for more intensity. The quality is there and what I would expect from Too Faced as a brand. I get 8+ hours of wear time on these with primer before I notice them starting to fade. They also smell slightly like vanilla, which is a yummy surprise when I apply these, but that scent fades just about instantly once they are applied.

  • Coconut (warm beige)
  • Dulce De Leche (matte caramel brown)
  • Banana Cream (warm golden medium brown)
  • Almond Mocha (cool dark taupe)
  • Champagne Rose (golden pink)
  • Mint Chocolate (matte warm dusty purple)
  • Tiramisu (matte soft fawn)
  • Chocolate Raspberry (deep amethyst)
  • Praline (warm gold shimmer)
  • Honey Lavender (pale mauve)
  • Violet Cassis (vibrant orchid)
  • Cookies & Cream (matte black w/ silver sparkle)

For this look, I am wearing Honey Lavender as the shimmery lid color. Almond Mocha is warming up my crease and a blend of Chocolate Raspberry and Cookies in Cream are on my outer corners.

This might make me slightly weird, but I love that the shades aren’t holiday oriented. I own a couple makeup items that I bought during holidays and with names like “Christmas Tree” and “Mistletoe” I don’t really feel like reaching for them in the summer months. Nothing about this palette is overly holiday-esque and I know I’ll reach for it year round!

too-faced-christmas-in-new-york-merry-macarons-5I’m really digging this palette and I’m so happy to have it. Is this something you would pick up? Are any Too Faced items on your holiday wish list?
