I love to shake up my beauty routine. I recently wrote about some products I use for my dark circles. I’ve been getting a ton of use out of that Kiehl’s eye cream in the past couple months and I’m starting to think about the cooler weather and what my skincare needs to look like when it’s bitterly cold outside. Now that I’m two months post partum, I know that soon all of my hair will be falling out, the rest of my post-pregnancy hormones will leave my body and I’ll be breaking out a ton, and my skin will be dry and itchy on top of the breakouts because of the cold weather. Joy. I just can’t wait.

best-winter-eye-creamI’ve been cleaning up around my house and going through closets and I ran across a tub of the One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm I had been saving. I decided I would start integrating it into my skincare routine and I’m ready to share my thoughts!

This is a balm and not a cream. The formula is thick and it needs to be warmed up between your fingers before applying it to your eye area. It can be used morning and night. When I apply this, my eye area looks slick so if you do wear it during the day you will want to wear makeup over top. I would use a thin layer during the day so makeup will wear well on top, and you can pile it on at night for extra moisture. I’ve started using it on the corners on my lips and around my nose where I’m getting extra dry patches. It’s made a difference there too! When the corners of my lips crack, my lipstick tends to bleed.

elizabeth-dehn-for-one-love-organics-vitamin-e-eye-balm-reviewThe formula of the balm contains many good for you natural ingredients including vitamin E, organic shea butter, pomegranate, and sea kelp. It does feel very nourishing going on and I’ve enjoyed using it during the day and at night. I didn’t notice a huge difference between using this and not using this, but I didn’t think I would. I am always using high quality skincare and I’m never going from not using an eye cream at all to using one, or using a crappy eye cream to using one, so my results aren’t usually “whoa!” I did notice this kept my eye area more hydrated than what I was using before, but it’s a balmy formula so that’s why I’m sure. The main thing it’s going to do is bring a lot of moisture to my skin in my eye area.

I don’t know enough about skincare ingredients to determine if this will help with anti-aging long term. I’m not really struggling much with eye wrinkles right now. I’m mostly worried about the very beginnings of fine lines, plus dark circles and dryness. This eye cream does help improve my eye area where those concerns come into play. I could see layering this over an anti-aging eye cream for extra moisture if you want to use a formula that will target the wrinkles first. It would be worth the investment to use the One Love because the level of hydration this brings to my eye area is really second to none!

vitamin-e-eye-balm-one-love-organicsI’m really loving the way my eye area feels with this and I’m going to continue to use it. I have really enjoyed my search for more natural/organic skincare products this year and I’m glad I’ve been able to find several products that have worked for me!

I used to have an eye balm that I loved but the company went out of business. This could well be my replacement.

I think it’s safe to say I’ve never tried an eye balm before. I don’t have an issue with circles yet…but I know it’s coming!

I love balms for the dry winter months but I have trouble using them on my eyes even though they are so soothing. They tend to migrate into my eyes and cloud my contacts. Even if I use them at night, they still seem to end up in my eyes, boo hoo.

I just ran out of my eye cream that I loved but can’t repurchase, so now I’m looking for another fave. What a fabulous idea to use an eye balm for winter, I will definitely look into that!
