When it comes to my girls’ hair, the struggle is real. None of my kids have even grown hair until they were at least one if not two, and it has taken forever to grow! My oldest daughter is four and now that her hair has grown long, it is her crowning glory and she is so proud of it. The one thing we have to work on? Keeping it looking healthy looking by washing and styling it. My middle daughter does not love bath time and doesn’t like her hair brushed. Bath time can be a major struggle in general, and when it happens I have to do a quick in-out and have my products ready so it goes super fast. I usually use a mix of three products for my girls’ hair health and lucky for me one of them works double for hair and body!

must-have-kids-hair-productsThe So Cozy brand is a much loved line in our household. We have just about every variety of it in our bathroom. Here are the main three that are on rotation for us this fall:

3 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner + Body Wash in Mango-go: I love that this will take care of ALL of our bathtub needs in one product. The scent is mango, mandarin, kiwi leaves, peach and wild musk. So all the fruity smells wrapped into one yummy fragrance yet there are no icky ingredients! There are lots of great ingredients in this that help protect my girls’ hair and keep it silky soft. I like that even keratin is in this too- they are at the age of elastic hair bands and barrettes and I want them to have strong hair that won’t have tons of breakage. This is definitely kid friendly when it comes to ingredients, scent, and multi-purpose, but it isn’t tear free which is my only gripe. We solve that by having a towel ready to put over their eyes while I’m pouring the water.

Boo! Lice Scaring Spray: I’m obsessed with this spray and even mentioned it as a must have in any teacher’s beauty bag. I use this religiously on my kids in the cold months of the year, as well as on myself. I am terrified of lice and the idea of bringing it into my home. None of my kids are in school yet but we go on play dates with other kids and out in public and germs are everywhere. If I’m really worried I can bump up our protection from lice by adding in the shampoo and conditioner too, but at a minimum I use this spray daily! A nice bonus is that it is also a leave-in conditioner that works really well and the scent is super fresh and not at all stinky. Peppermint, rosemary, and lavender are in the formula to scare away lice and quite honestly it’s a really pleasant scent! (I’m glad the lice don’t think so).

Boo! Lice Scaring Spray: This is a fantastic styler and can be used wet or dry to make unruly hair cooperate. To define curls, you can scrunch the mousse through set hair. To tame flyaways, you can apply it to dry hair. My kids both have different hair needs (one with ringlet curls, one with flyaways) and this works great for both! A bonus is the scent of sweet peach, nectarine, jasmine, and mild musk.

Between bath time bathing and hair washing, lice prevention, and hair styling, I love that these three products have us covered! All three are a must in our household!

My daughter was born with a full head of hair and her pigtails at 15 months are well beyond her years, lol! I love the idea of the lice spray, since she is in daycare. I’ll have to pick some up!!!

I never thought about using lice spray on a daily basis. Wish this was around when I was teaching! If they even mentioned lice in my school I’d itch for days.

I remember getting checked for lice in school – the teachers always hated it because I had so much hair! lol. My mom would have loved some of that lice-scaring spray for me.

I just love that there are so many amazing options for kids these days. I remember my mom used some soap and Johnson’s baby shampoo and baby oil on me, and that’s about it haha 🙂

Where was this stuff when my little guy was younger? Now he’s on a “big boy kick” and only wants adult shampoo/conditioner like daddy has!
