I’ve been really into liquid lipstick just like the rest of the beauty world lately, and I wanted to share with you today one of my newfound favorites. Elizabeth Arden recently came out with a high impact lip color that I am really enjoying. The formula and applicator are different than what I’m used to but they’re so great!
The Beautiful Color Bold Liquid Lipstick comes in a click pen style lipgloss stick with a flocked tip applicator. You push the lever on the pen and the right amount of product is dispensed to the applicator. I typically use 1-2 clicks of the pen to over my whole lip area.
These are intensely colorful and I think the color range has something everyone will enjoy. There are brighter shades and more muted nude shades, but I am enjoying the full range. What you won’t find is some of the funkier colors from lines like Kat Von D and Bite Beauty but that’s ok. I turn to the Arden line when I am looking for something that is a bit more sophisticated and grown up and these definitely fit the bill.
The formula is creamy and dries down to a slightly emollient but mostly dry finish. The result is my lips feeling very slightly moisturized and not super tight and dry. The shades are all pretty long wearing but I’ve noticed that when they do fade and wear off they do so by balling up slightly on the lips. I think this is because they’re not very drying but they’re not ultra moisturizing and the somewhere-in-between texture causes me to rub my lips together a little bit during the day. Even still, it’s not apparent that it wears in this way and especially with the lighter and muted shades I don’t notice it at all. It’s still a very comfortable formula and I find myself reaching for one of these to wear often.
I have seven of the nine available shades in the line.
I am getting the most mileage out of Lavish Pink, which I would describe as a dusty rose nude shade. I am loving all of the other shades as well, although I’m a bit confused by Fiery Red, which I swear comes across as a hot pink on me. I still love it, but the name is throwing me off!
If you are looking for a new liquid lipstick, I suggest you try these out! I was inspired by these to write a post on my favorite liquid lipsticks so look for a post detailing this alongside some other brands that I love in the weeks to come.
