becca-shimmering-skin-perfector-pressed-rose-quartzI saw this highlighter pop up on my Instagram feed the other night and I knew I had to have it! I am a huge sucker for Becca’s highlighters and I tend to hoard every new one that comes out. I read the description of Rose Quartz being a “neutral pale pink” highlighter and I knew it needed to be mine. This is limited edition, so if you want one, you should totally put it in your shopping cart NOW while it’s still in stock at Sephora.

becca-shimmering-skin-perfector-pressed-in-rose-quartzBeyond the gorgeous packaging with the raised pattern, the product inside performs amazingly well too. Becca’s pressed formulas are gorgeous for intense highlighting, and they can even be too intense for some. I know the strobing look is not for everybody and anything with too chunky of glitter tends to emphasize any fine lines or imperfections in my skin. Also, my skin’s texture is typically pretty dry and too much highlighter can make my skin look absolutely horrible and age me big time. All in all, I have to be careful picking my highlighter!

More so than their other formulas, I feel like Rose Quartz is incredibly easy to wear. It seems to be even more finely milled than the other shades they carry and it’s super easy to sheer out once it’s on my cheeks. The way the finish looks on my skin comes across as elegant rather than glitzy. I swatched it by dipping my finger in the pan once to show you how creamy this powder is. You won’t want to use too dense of a brush to go in the pan or you will end up wasting a bunch of product when it gets kicked up by the brush.

becca-shimmering-skin-perfector-pressed-rose-quartz-swatchRose Quartz is so pretty. I am wearing it in the picture below on my cheekbones, on my cupid’s bow and on the inner corners of my eye. I kept my makeup pretty simple and have been doing that the past few days. I had my baby last Tuesday and I don’t have a lot of time or energy at the moment for lots of makeup but it does make me feel more myself to put a tiny bit of effort into my appearance. I am also wearing Tarte Exposed blush on my cheeks and Rose Quartz worked really well as a blush topper here to give a bit more of a glow. The shade reminds me what a powder version of Benefit High Beam would be like.
becca-rose-quartz-highlighterIf you are looking for a powder highlighter with a natural looking finish, check out Rose Quartz. It reminds me a lot of the Clinique Uplighting Illuminating Powder that I reviewed the other day (read review) in terms of formula and how natural it looks on. That said, I’ve been reviewing a lot of similar highlighters recently so this might be the last you hear of a highlighter for a while from me, save for a roundup of some of my favorites that I’ve seen this year. Keep on the lookout!

Have you seen this highlighter yet? Do you plan to pick it up?

With my super oily skin and large pores I can’t really wear products like this, but it sure looks pretty.

Rose Quartz would work for me. I bought a rose gold perfecter from Becca a couple of years ago, but I have seldom worn it coz it’s just too dark. I should’ve returned it, but at the time, I didn’t realize all these different shades would be coming out.

That looks gorgeous. I’m not sure that my aging skin could handle the shimmer, but I’m tempted by it.

You had your baby last week and you’re already back to blogging? You’re an energizer bunny! I too have to be careful with highlights at my age so I tend to go for liquid ones but this is very tempting.

It was so hard for me not to buy this but I haven’t used the ones I have already enough. It’s just so beautiful though.

That is such a gorgeous highlighter on you! If I didn’t already have a similar Hourglass highlighter that I love I would have definitely bought this one.
