What makeup do you wear with glasses?
Do you wear makeup when you wear glasses? I know a lot of glasses wearers who don’t wear makeup anyway, but are really shy of wearing eye makeup because they don’t want to look too overdone. I also know some people who wear glasses who wear very heavy eye makeup and I think it looks terrible. How do you find the happy medium?
For me, it depends on what I’m wearing for frames. I am a glasses wearer in the colder months mostly (when I choose to wear them at all) and I tend to stick to contacts in the summer. My reason? I don’t like extra gear on my face when it’s hot out. I will sometimes wear glasses to give my eyes a break from lenses and sometimes I’ll wear them as a fashion statement if I just like the frames that I have. Currently, I have dark frames and with a plastic nosepiece instead of the little silicone nose pads that you can move around. I’m still trying to get used to how much/what kind of makeup I can wear with them. By the way, I got some questions on Instagram and wanted to mention these frames are Ashcroft in Olive by Seraphin.
The extent of my “glasses” makeup was a foundation set with a translucent powder, some neutral blush and lipstick, and minimal eye makeup. I struggle wearing eye makeup with glasses because my lashes are long and if I wear too much mascara, they’ll hit my frames. I wore a neutral wash of color all over my lid with no eyeliner here. Kind of boring! Most importantly though, I have a defined brow here. I think that’s really necessary when wearing glasses because glasses draw more attention to that area.
What do you wear for makeup if you are wearing glasses? I’d love some tips!
