I’ve been hearing a lot of raving about Lancome Absolue Powder lately, and since I love the brand, I thought it was something I needed to try! I have been watching a lot of YouTube lately since I’m not sleeping well at night (36 week pregnant probs) and Jaclyn Hill has mentioned it several times now. I was trying to determine what my best shade would be so I could order some, and that’s when I realized there were no blog posts on it anywhere on the internet, at least that I could find. For shame! I went to all my local makeup counters and Sephora seeking out a color match but nowhere near me carries it at the counter- it’s a special order online at most places. I finally tracked it down in store and was able to grab the shade in Absolute Pearl. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks so I figured it was time to share my thoughts!
This powder has a very special texture. It’s unlike probably anything you’ve tried out there! It is extremely finely milled, and has a very delicate texture. This isn’t something that is going to provide a lot, if any coverage. It’s mostly to be used as a very soft powder veil over top of existing makeup. If you want to look flawless, apply your regular foundation and then sweep this over top. It’s great on my dry skin and doesn’t settle or cake into fine lines at all. It does make me look like I’m glowing, but not in a disco ball type of a way, more like a very natural effect or a lit from within effect. When I put this on, I can’t stop touching my face because it is literally SO SOFT. And I love that it seems to blur my fine lines.
I have a bit of a summer tan going on but since these don’t provide much color coverage at all, I opted for the lightest shade of the six, Absolute Pearl. I figure this will match me best most of the year. I haven’t noticed this paling me out all and to be honest, for the lightest shade, it still looks pretty dark in the jar!
If you are into powders that offer full coverage, you won’t be happy with this. If you like a natural, ethereal glow and the illusion of perfect skin without wearing much makeup this will be right up your alley. On days I am going light on my makeup, I will set my foundation with this, and on days that I want a little more coverage, I will set my foundation with something else, and come back to apply this just to my t-zone. So far, I’m absolutely in love with this powder! It’s a little pricier at $58, but it hurts less to buy it when Lancome is in their GWP time- then you can try out a bunch of their other products and it doesn’t seem like such an investment!
Have you been hearing about this powder as much as I have? Is this something you would use?
