PR SAMPLEI BOUGHT IT MYSELFAFFILIATE LINKS

The end of August and beginning of September is so nostalgic for me. I loved being in school k-12, and I loved being in college, and then later I loved going back to school as a teacher. I taught for two years, then stayed home with my oldest, middle, and will stay with my soon to be third daughter as well. Fall is such a special season- school starting marks a time of new beginnings, but with the cool weather comes Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, and all the traditions those holidays hold. With that fresh new feeling of fall, I will also be welcoming a new baby into our family in a few short weeks, which is the third time I will be having a fall baby. This is my third round of Deja-vu for autumn babies. So exciting!

Teacher Beauty Bag Must HavesI can’t help but remember when I would go back to teaching, all the different things I needed to prepare for. As a substitute teacher, I could be in any classroom at any time so my days were very fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants. I had a couple longer term subbing opportunities, but for the majority of my teaching years, I was on call on a daily basis. My getting ready routine was usually some sort of funky outfit and I prided myself on having fun statement jewelry, bright shoes, and other interesting wardrobe pieces. I never shied away from bright lipstick or eyeshadow colors, and loved to stand out! My wardrobe was one of the things I could control, but all the other factors could vary by day. It might be 80 degrees out but the classroom I was assigned to could be an ice cube, or have no A/C. I might have a very clear cut lesson plan for the day, or I might be showing the same movie on repeat all day. For these reasons, I always dressed in layers, brought a book, and packed my beauty bag accordingly! I decided to piece together a short list of things I would be toting with me on the regular if I was going back to school as a teacher this year.

L’Occitane Immortelle Precious Mist– This is perfect for a quick makeup refresh. If my makeup feels like it’s wearing off or caking up while the day goes on I will spray this on before I touch it up. It smells great and it helps to moisturize and revitalize too. A must have in a perfect size for on the go!

Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer– If I am only able to pack one concealer, let it be one that does it all. From brightening to color correcting, I can put this anywhere on my face whether it be the redness around my nose, the dark circles under my eyes, or a random pimple. It doesn’t crease and it seems to last forever. It’s very easy to blend with my fingers so it would be my first choice for a quick touch up.

Lancome Dual Finish– This is probably my favorite pressed powder of all time. They carry a TON of colors in this range and I’ve never had to compromise on my shade to find the perfect match (mine is Matte Bisque). It’s great on combo/dry skin and easy to apply in a quick hurry. In the mornings I apply with a big fluffy brush and any possible touchups could be done with the included sponge. It’s very long wearing so chances are you will only need it for the mirror for during the day, but better safe than sorry, I tote it around anyway!

Teacher Beauty Bag Must Haves 2Clinique Chubby Stick in Woppin’ Watermelon– Clinique’s Chubby Sticks were my ride or die when I was teaching. I have almost every shade in the range of these but I would choose something like this sheer pink tint for a shade that would match every day. I love these because there is no scent but a lot of shine and moisture. They also last forever too!

Tilly Fragrance Oil– I love the idea of being able to touch up my fragrance midway through the day, but I don’t want to overdo it. Having a rollerball on hand is the perfect way to give yourself a little boost. If I were to choose a fragrance for the beginning of the school year I would choose something light and fresh that still embodies summer as a way of clinging on to some of those last warm days, especially since I would be stuck inside all day but be able to see the sun shining through a classroom window! By Rosie Jane is a great brand that makes fragrance with natural fragrance oils, essential oils, and absolutes using natural and organic ingredients. I think the fragrance Tilly is a perfect choice because it combines notes of grapefruit, coconut, and pineapple into a light, fresh scent that is never overwhelming.

Essential oils– I wish I knew about essential oils back when I was teaching! The ones that I think would have been the most helpful to me during a long day are Valor and Stress Away

Boo! Lice Scaring Spray– This one may seem kind of silly, but during lice season, I am TERRIFIED I’m going to bring it home. Everywhere I go, I’m so itchy and I’m just certain I have lice on me. I have been using the shampoo/conditioner on my kids as well as the detangling spray during lice season to keep them away. If I went back to teaching in schools, I would definitely carry a spray on me to coat my hair. As a bonus, it smells nice and has natural ingredients.

Teacher Beauty Bag Must Haves 3So that concludes what I would carry in my teacher’s beauty bag. Did I cover all the bases? If you teach or if you don’t, could you get away with just carrying these few items during the day at your job?

So interesting, I never thought about a teacher needing to have a bag or box of necessities at school, but of course, you would. These are all great things to have on hand

As a 30 year veteran I was always prepared. I kept a makeup bag in my desk with all the necessities. No air conditioning ever so I often had to touch up at school. You’ve got some excellent ideas.
