Would you buy a product for the packaging alone?

I totally have, I won’t lie! I am suckered in by gorgeous packaging. I am trying to remember some of the last things I bought because they looked pretty or quirky. One recent thing that is speaking to me is Benefit’s new brow line but TRUST ME I don’t need any more brow products right now. Tarte Rainforest of the Sea collection also has gorgeous packaging that really sucked me in. Make Up For Ever’s new lipstick formulation also has beautiful metal tubes with pretty engraving on them. I will be reviewing a few of those shades soon but you can click over for a sneek peak from Instagram to tide you over. Maskcara Cosmetics has some really beautiful packaging as well. I haven’t reviewed it yet but here is another sneak peek from Instagram if you’re interested!

So in case you’re wondering…I am drawn like flies to flypaper when I see something pretty.

Clinique Forevermore Compact Pressed PowderWith my 5 year wedding anniversary coming up (tomorrow!) I have been thinking about what I could’ve/would’ve/should’ve worn for makeup. Often times I will find something that’s really long wearing and think “I wish I would’ve known about this at my wedding!” The most intensely I’ve ever felt that way was when I discovered liquid lipstick. I didn’t know about it, or it just wasn’t popular yet in 2011 so I wore a regular lipstick that rubbed off and I didn’t do a great job reapplying it because I didn’t want to be wearing it all over my face. I used to not like lipstick very much. But now it’s not in hardly any of my wedding pictures. If I could go back in time, I would’ve handed myself a tube of the Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in Soft Lilac, which is my current favorite/signature shade (read review).

Clinique Forevermore Compact Pressed Powder is a recent discovery that I TOTALLY would’ve bought just for pretty packaging for my wedding. It is a gorgeous, luxurious keepsake compact and it is WAY too pretty to use. (No, I haven’t even used it yet!) It’s supposed to be a blotting powder and I just know that I would’ve wanted to tuck this beautiful thing into my wedding purse five years ago. I carried my Grandma’s vintage purse for my wedding. I still remember so many of those little details. My something blue was Bvlgari Blue II which I still love but I don’t think I’ve worn it since the summer of 2011. Maybe I’ll have to bust out my old bottle of it in honor of our anniversary weekend to see if my husband notices.

Clinique Forevermore Compact Pressed Powder. 2psdAt $75 the Clinique Forevermore Compact Pressed Powder is definitely something I would consider a collector’s item. But for a special day in history, it could be well worth it! I could see having this engraved or putting it on display with your wedding shoes/bouquet if that is something you plan to keep in a cabinet. So pretty!

Yes, and I have purchased several compacts with pressed powder because the compact was so wonderful. Love the sophisticated look of this one

I used to buy MAC non-stop and I’d buy their special packaging ones and not use them. I love gorgeous packaging but I try not to only buy for that reason now.

I have certainly been known to, though I’m trying to be more practical.

Yes I will, and have many times. I pretty much have a ton of stuff here I have yet to use and I bought it purely for the packaging lol
