I currently have two little girls with one more on the way due in September. Needless to say, we go through a lot of shampoo in this house! Bath time has become a battle recently because nobody likes their snarly hair touched or brushed, but in the summer especially, I want to wash the girls’ hair several times a week. Between sweating outside, being at the splash pad a bunch, and just being kids, every time I go to touch my kids’ hair, it is filthy!

In the winter time, So Cozy* had a lice preventing line that was our ride or die. I am honestly terrified of my kids getting lice. I am not as worried about lice in the summer, rather I’m more worried about chlorine damage and the sun frying their delicate hair. I just discovered So Cozy has a Splash line that helps with the very concerns we have in the summer!

Kids summer hair- So CozyFirst, the Swim 3-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner + Wash has been a godsend. I can’t describe to you how nice it is to be able to use one product on my kids from head to toe. I love that we can suds up completely head to toe ONCE, rinse, and not have to repeat the process. This hair and body wash cleanses and repairs damaged hair caused by pool chemicals, saltwater, and the sun. It has activated charcoal that absorbs and removes unwanted green tones, calcium salts, and chlorine buildup from hair. As a brunette, I’ve never had to worry about green tones in my hair in the summer, but my kids have lighter hair and are going blonde this summer so it’s definitely something I keep in mind for them.

Once they’re out of the bath, we’ve been using the Swim Leave-in Treatment + Detangler. A couple spritzes of this and I’m having no issues getting through their hair with the Wet Brush. This spray has UVA/UVB filters among other great ingredients but most importantly it helps me brush through the snarls like they don’t exist. No more screaming kids after bath time is a win for this mom!

I remember the swimmer shampoos of my childhood and they were not pleasant. If my memory serves me you could only get them at Sally’s Beauty Supply and it smelled terrible. You applied it once a week to get all the chlorine out and it was too harsh to use more often than that. Let me tell you that swimmer shampoo has come a long way since the 90s! These have a great lime and vanilla fragrance and they’re not harsh on the hair whatsoever. They are great to use and I recommend them to little swimmers of all ages!

What do your kids use on their hair in the summer?
