Does the Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Palette have dupes for Becca’s blushes?
I cover mostly high end beauty products but every so often a drugstore beauty product will really speak to me. My last few drugstore beauty purchases have been L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara, some lipgloss that is no longer carried, and Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Eyeshadows. I know I’ve had a couple drugstore beauty products that performed really well, so when I saw the Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Palette (for $10!) I had high hopes. At first glance, this palette is not only gorgeous, but appears to have some dupes for Becca’s blushes, highlighters, and Luminous blushes. I decided to investigate for myself!
Does this palette contain dupes? The short answer is yes. The blushes are stiff and kind of dry and all of the matte shades were hard to swatch. The shades that have some luminosity and highlighting qualities were easier to swatch but I wish they were more buttery smooth. They weren’t quite as pigmented as they looked in the pan or as pigmented as Becca’s blushes. The one standout shade was the only one I didn’t have high hopes for! The 7th shade over in the palette swatched like a dream. In the pan it has hunks of glitter along with the shimmer and I was very surprised to see how buttery smooth and pigmented it was in one swipe.
For $10, I definitely think this pan is worth a gander if you are interested in the shimmery shades. While they’re not exact dupes of Becca’s formula, they are still very pretty and if you like a lighter amount of shimmer highlight, you will love these. Spotting this palette makes me wonder what else I am missing out on in the drugstore beauty world. I have been seeing a lot of coverage on Maybelline’s Blushing Pout lipstick. Maybe that will be the next thing I spring for!
Have you seen this palette around? What do you think?
