What’s your favorite full coverage concealer?
That’s a tough one! I have so many concealers I like. I am currently rotating between two favorites right now. I recently bought the Bare Minerals Bareskin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer in Medium that I talked about in my May Beauty Buys post. I LOVE the coverage on this and it’s the perfect shade for my slight tan that I have going on. What I was using previously was the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer. Seriously LOVE that stuff. The shades I currently have (and can find!) are too light for me at the moment, but I need to dig through my stuff to find R30 which will be just about perfect for me right now.
What I love about this concealer is that it’s perfect for the undereye area. Let’s face it, I pretty much ONLY buy concealers that work great for under my eyes. I like something that hydrates, doesn’t crease, brightens my eye area to make me look more awake, and stays smooth. I also like the ability to layer it without it getting cakey under my eyes, because let’s face it, that’s not an attractive look. I need all the help I can get because I am starting to get the little eye crinkles from age and smiling (I just turned 30!) and I really don’t want a product that will accentuate those. The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer fits the bill in each of these areas, making it just about perfect for me in every way.
There is an impressive color range available in this formula, with shades that will color correct and shades that will conceal.

I have Y21, R20 and R30. When I first got these and started testing them it was April and Y21 and R20 were perfect for my fair skin. Since then, we’ve been to the zoo and the park a handful of times, and despite slathering on that SPF I’ve got a bit of a tan going now. The light shades in this range would probably look really crazy on me right now which is why I have to dig out R30! It’s perfect for color correcting my super dark under eye circles and it’ll be great for a medium skin tone. I’m in my 25th week of pregnancy right now and I’ve had terrible acid reflux at night recently, causing me to be up late at night and not sleep well even when I do fall asleep. The bags under my eyes right now are atrocious and I truly need as much coverage as I can get!
The texture of this formula is liquid thin, but it’s really buildable, and it has really great coverage! I’m surprised by how well it covers and feels like real skin. It’s kind of the perfect HG concealer and I’m in love.
I am trying hard to narrow down my makeup collection lately because we just don’t have the room for all of my stuff anymore, much of which goes unused. As a result I’ve been going through bins and boxes and a lot of my makeup is all scrambled up. I’m eager to get my organization on lock down so I can find my lost HG concealer in the shade I need right now and lots of other favorites. Lately, I’ve also been using the BareSkin concealer that I mentioned earlier, but I have one by Clinique that I would love to find in my stash too. I remember loving that one, but it’s been a couple years since I’ve pulled it out. I wonder if I’ll love it as much when I try it again?
