I was late to the game in my realization that Becca and Jaclyn Hill were collaborating on makeup again. I am a fan of Jaclyn Hill’s makeup tutorials and I think she always looks on point, and I am a huge fan of Becca, so of course I really wanted to check out this launch. The arrival of the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette and the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Eyeshadow Palette to Sephora online happened to perfectly coincide with my 30th birthday, so I thought it would be a great little gift to myself. I ordered, and they came in the mail on Thursday so I’ve been playing with them for a couple days now and I’m ready to share my thoughts. Before they arrived I had watched Jaclyn’s video describing what these palettes were all about too so it was nice to have that insight going in.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop CollectionI have fair skin so in order for something to show up as a highlighter on me, it needs to be lighter than my skin. Becca’s range carries several highlighters that are gorgeous, but of the pressed versions, only Pearl is lighter than my actual skin tone. In the summer, when I have a tan going, I can get away with Moonstone or Opal, but year round, those would be considered more of a shimmering blush topper than an actual highlight. When Champagne Pop came out originally (last year? year before?) I knew I really had to have it, but I was also aware that it would be something I wouldn’t get a TON of use out of. I still bought it because I can’t turn down a fancy new highlighter, so I thought I would group that in with the rest of the collection that is new. The collection consists of the limited edition eye and face palettes, and Champagne Pop in the liquid, cream, and pressed versions as permanent fixtures to Becca’s line of highlighters.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop collection face paletteI’ll start with the Face Palette. There are five shades of highlighter and blush, each shade of which was designed by Jaclyn Hill. The top row is the blushes: Rosé Spritz, Amaretto, and Pamplemousse. In Jaclyn’s video she mentions that Amaretto is the perfect warm blush shade. I would have to agree. It’s lovely and I was immediately drawn to it. Rosé Spritz is meant to be layered over top of a blush as an extra layer of luminosity. Pamplemousse is a perfect bright blush. The bottom row is the highlighters. Champagne Pop is on the left, and her new highlighter, Prosecco Pop is on the right. This one is a bit more yellow in tone than Champagne Pop and I think it will suit darker complexions better. I am personally more of a fan of the white gold of Champagne Pop than the yellow gold of the Prosecco Pop, on my own complexion that is!

I’m obsessed with Becca’s Ombre Nudes palettes and this one was similar but with both lustrous and matte shadows, so I knew it was going to be a hit for me. This palette has 5 eye shades: Chardonnay (sheer gold with flashes of pink and soft yellow), Champagne Toast (reflective peach with a dash of cinnamon), Cordial (matte rose with warm undertones), Cognac (flattering matte coffee), and Bordeaux (rich matte wine with chocolate undertones). Jaclyn only created Champagne Toast out of this palette, and Becca came out with the complementary tones. I really LOVE Champagne Toast, it’s so shimmery and gorgeous, and I think if you like nude shadows but also enjoy a little sparkle and interest in your eyeshadow look, this will be a hit for you too. I like that the shades are warm and each and every shadow serves a purpose. They have some gorgeous color selections here and not a single one of them is a dud.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector PressedI do not own the the Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Champagne Pop, but I own the other two remaining pieces of this collection. The Pressed version I own individually and in the palette, and it’s the most bold way to use Champagne Pop. The Poured Créme version I also have and it’s a much more subtle way to enjoy Champagne Pop. Jaclyn described the poured version as a great way for someone with aging skin to wear the highlighter because it’s not over the top. I would have to agree!

I wish I had remembered to take a better picture totally looking down so you could check out the eyeshadow, and now I feel silly. Darn hooded eyelids! I am wearing lots of Champagne Pop stuff, plus the Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation (read review) that I thought for sure I’d love more in the summer, and I was right! Products I used are listed below.

Becca Champagne Pop collection lookBecca Backlight Priming Filter (review), Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation in Fair (review), bareMinerals BareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer in Medium (review), Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden, Champagne Pop Eyeshadow Palette (used all colors), Champagne Pop Face Palette (Amaretto blush with Rosé Spritz on top, Prosecco Pop on cupid’s bow and high points of cheeks), Jane Iredale GreatShape in Brunette (review), Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner in Intense Black, It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara (review) and Clinique Chubby Stick in Mighty Mimosa.

I’m breaking out my Vita Liberata so I’m hoping the darker my tan, the more flattering Champagne Pop everything will look on me in the weeks to come. If you can get your hands on the palettes, I think they’re definitely worth a gander!

Do you own any Champagne Pop yet? What do you think?

Your cheekbones are giving me LIFE. I’ve got to be careful with highlighters because I tend to go overboard with them. You’re inspiring me because your application is absolutely flawless!

The face palette is so beautiful and has outstanding presentation. I never got into Champagne Pop before. Like you, I’m fair so I preferred ink or white highlights but with this palette, I just can’t stop wearing all the shades.
