A few weeks ago I talked about some of my recent beauty buys, one of them being an impulse buy of the new Tarte Lippie Lingerie in Exposed. I thought it would be like many of my impulse purchases where I take a liking to the product but ultimately end up moving on to something else. It hasn’t been that way with the Lippie Lingerie! I’ve been carrying Exposed in my purse since the day I bought it and I can’t put it down. I’m obsessed with the formula and have been eager to try more of them.
What I LOVE about these at first glance is that they are all nude shades. No matter what your skin tone is you’ll be able to find something flattering. I’m pretty fair, and even when I get a bit darker in the summer I’m still pretty light. I was able to find at least a few shades in the range that really suited me. My love for these doesn’t stop at the shade range either. They are touted as a matte lip tint and I love that they look pretty matte on my lips but they’re not drying. They actually have quite a bit of slip! The formula blends mango seed, cupuacu, and murumuru butters and the result is a lip tint that glides on my lips and keeps them velvety soft but stays put and keeps a matte-like look.
Over time, the shade I choose will fade a bit from my lips but it fades evenly and I don’t feel the tight and dry feeling on my lips I typically get when I wear a matte formula. Maybe it’s because it’s not 100% matte? There is a little bit of luster to the formula from all the moisturizer butters and oils in it, but I still have the matte vibe going with these so I am a happy camper when I wear them! I get to pull off a trend and stay comfortable.
Swatches left to right: Exposed, Whisper, Undressed, Pure, Racy
My absolute favorites for my skin tone are Exposed, Whisper, and Pure. Envy would have been a favorite of mine too but I got a defective tube that was empty. Oops! I love it though- I’ve tried it on at Sephora and if I purchase another, it will be that one.
I think if you try this formula you’re going to buy one and go back for a few more. They’re really that great! I’m sure this won’t be the last you’ll hear about the Lippie Lingerie Matte Lip Tints from me this summer. They are just lovely to wear and I could (and might) collect every shade and I’m sure they’ll all get worn down to a nub before summer is through.
In yesterday’s post on the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette, I’m wearing Pure. Click here to check that one out!
Have you tried these yet? If not, which shade appeals to you most? For me, Exposed is life!
