Summer is in full swing at our house and the sun is shining. I looked at my calendar this morning and realized that this weekend is Father’s Day! Why does it always seem to sneak up on us? I can’t believe that this weekend already marks the day but my lack of preparedness is not going to stop me from being prepared (albeit last minute) to spoil my guy. I always like to make a big deal of days like this when I can.

father's dayMother’s Day and Father’s Day are unlike a birthday or Christmas at our house in that you don’t come up with a special list of things you want. It’s meant that everyone else treats you like a king or queen and spoils you with things they think you will like. In our house that means I love to give gifts meant for pampering. Things like cologne and special body wash are rare purchases in our home, probably in any home, but given how long they last they are only repurchased a few times a year. I have some great new finds this year that I can’t wait to share!

Kiehl's Age Defense LineKiehl’s Age Defender Line for men has a few beauty goodies that I know my husband will love. We have the eye cream, power serum, moisturizer, and a shave lotion. Although he’s pretty low maintenance, my husband has always loved Kiehl’s products and I know he’s going to get some use out of these items. He just turned 31 so it’s not like he’s getting any younger!

Jack Black Double Header and Clinique Charcoal Face WashI also stocked his shower up with a couple essentials. My husband’s pretty low maintenance, but I know that one thing he does daily is shower and wash his face. Jack Black Double Header Shampoo + Conditioner is a HUGE step up from whatever he has been using from the drugstore. He thinks Head and Shoulders is the only solution for his dandruff but I’m about to prove to him that he can get the same or better results from the Jack Black- it is sulfate-free and has some certified-organic ingredients. It’s also fragrance-free! He has been a huge fan of Clinique’s face washes in the past and I’ve noticed in the past that he’s borrowed mine, and let’s just say that guys often use a LOT of product. I don’t like to share, especially my high end stuff so I’m glad that Clinique has a Charcoal Face Wash, which is more suited to his skin type anyway. I’m more dry and he’s more oily and the charcoal wash will be perfect for him.

Clean Classic for Men, Victor & Rolf Spice BombLastly, it’s time for a fragrance upgrade. I just discovered two new AMAZING colognes. Clean Classic is super fresh and a new find that I am loving. It is the perfect every day cologne, very traditional in terms of a fresh and clean scent, very light and not overwhelming, and perfect for day time. Then we have Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb which is one of the best smells ever, and completely addictive. This is a super masculine smell which I would categorize as the perfect night time scent. It is a super sexy scent that draws you in at first breath and is just SO good. You can’t go wrong with either of these scents but they each have an entirely different vibe.

If you are in the market for a few pampering Father’s Day gifts, I highly recommend any of the choices here. A few of these items were voted on by industry experts in the CEW Beauty Insider Awards and are some of this year’s leading brands. Most of these brands are available at Nordstrom or Sephora, so if you are a last minute shopper like I am, head out to your local mall and grab some of these gifts up. My personal favorite is the Spicebomb cologne. SO good. Just trust me on this one 🙂

Viktor & Rolf SpicebombDo you make a big deal about Father’s Day in your house? Do you have any go to gifts that you buy for your dad?

When my kids were young we’d make a big deal of Father’s Day because it was fun for them too. Now it seems more of an occasion to be together – which is the best!!

I settled on books for my Dad this year; it’s rather difficult to get gifts for him lol.

Really good suggestions for the men. They’re always so difficult to buy for.

My Mr. loves Kiehl’s, it’s the only skincare he will use.
