What hair products do you pack for travel?

I usually go pretty low maintenance with my hair but when I’m vacation I want to look GOOD. Not saying my hair doesn’t look decent on a regular basis but I’d like to step outside the box and go a little above and beyond a top knot when I know I’m going to be in a lot of pictures. There’s also something about vacation that makes me feel a little more experimental with my hair and makeup- probably the fact that I’ll never see the people I run into on the street ever again so if what I wear ends up being a total flop, it’s all good.

Redken Beach Envy VolumeRedken* recently sent me a few small sizes of their products for fun and I was excited to pack them with me to go on vacation. I’ve owned the dry shampoo before but the other products were new to me! Pillow Proof Two Day Extender is a product I’ve owned and loved in the past. You can read more here. I have big plans for the Braid Aid, which I have not tried yet. I love the braid halos that are really in style right now and I’ve been growing my bangs out for a few months so I think they’re long enough now to be able to braid back, finally! I will think about doing a post on that after I’ve done a little experimenting. My current most loved product of the bunch is the Beach Envy Volume

Redken Beach Envy Volume in hairBeach Envy Volume is so easy to use. It’s meant to be a “scrunching spray” on damp hair but that’s not how I’ve been using it at all. I will use my Sarah Potempa Beachwaver (my ride or die- you need one in your life.) and curl all around my head. Rather than using a hairspray to finish my ‘do off, I will spray Beach Envy Volume all up in my hair, tousle with my fingers a little bit, and I’m good to go. I find that the effect is undone, beachy, messy waves. Typically with a hairspray I’d keep my finished look of messy waves that I get with the Beachwaver, but with the beach spray it adds some texture and not very much hold so the curls start to loosen almost immediately. It’s pretty much perfect for summer and I love the undone and messy vibe I get from it. I’ve been using this stuff nonstop for about two weeks and I’ve already used up a good amount from the bottle. Love this stuff!

Have you used any of these products? What do you use for travel?

I’m the exact same way! I always experiment with my hair and makeup on vacation 🙂
