Mother’s Day has taken on a new meaning for me over the years. For however long I can remember it’s been about celebrating my mom and thanking her for all that she has done for me (thanks mom!) Over the last few years it’s also evolved into me actually BEING a mom. I have a 3.5 year old and a 1.5 year old with one on the way right now so I am now a mother times three. The kids are so young right now that they are a ton of work and I love them dearly but they are a handful and they’re not yet at the stage where I get much of a break. They are not old enough to understand Mother’s Day and that it would be nice to thank me for all the messes I clean up, the booboos I kiss, the peed on bed sheets I change daily, etc. Who knows what my husband might have up his sleeve to surprise me with tomorrow, but as far as I can guess, if I want to be pampered and treat myself, I’m probably on my own!
I’ve been really into self-care lately. Pedicures and massages in the past have sounded to me like a colossal waste of money but in the past few months I am down with finding a way to work these things into our budget. I feel the same way about paying for a babysitter on occasion so I can get out on my own. Being a stay at home mom can be exhausting in every way and it can be such a breath of fresh air to be able to run errands without the little ones. I just left the kids with a sitter the other day when I had two doctors appointments in a row with a two hour break in between. I found myself at the mall walking around and checking out all the Mother’s Day gift sets at L’Occitane* and thinking about how great of a gift they would make for any mother. I’m a huge L’Occitane fan so I’ve tried almost everything they carry in their gift sets and can attest that they don’t disappoint!
Two of the sets especially struck me as being really special. As I approach 30 (my birthday is June 1st!) I am finding more than ever how much I enjoy investing in quality skincare. The Ultimate Gift of Youth is a gift priced for a queen ($190 for a $238 value). This is an anti-aging collection formulated with the precious essential oil of organic Immortelle. If you are an essential oil junkie you know how expensive and luxurious this oil is touted as. Using this kit will unveil some of the best softest, youngest, and most beautiful skin imaginable. I am obsessed with the scent and I am obsessed with the results I get from this. The gift set includes:
Divine Cream 1.7 oz.
Divine Eyes 0.5 oz.
Immortelle Precious Cleansing Foam 5.1 fl. oz.
Divine Lotion 1.7 fl. oz.
The Relaxing Lavender Gift is the other set that appeals to me most. L’Occitane uses lavender that is sourced from farmers’ cooperatives in Haute-Provence. Lavender is known for its soothing and relaxing properties, so it is the perfect scent to help unwind. I’ve tried several of L’Occitane lavender products in this kit and they are some of my all time favorites from the brand. Of all of the products in the kit, my favorite is the Lavender Perfumed Satchet. I’ve owned this in the past and I stored it in my underwear drawer. In the morning when I am getting ready for the day I am usually rushed and getting a whiff of lavender is exactly what I need to keep calm and carry on! This gift set is $69 for a $95 value.
This gift collection includes:
Lavender Foaming Bath 16.9 oz.
Lavender Perfumed Satchet 1.2 oz.
Lavender Hand Cream 1 oz.
Lavender Scented Candle 3.5 oz.
Bonne Mere Lavender Soap 100 grams.
All of L’Occitane’s gift sets come packaged in a beautiful box with tissue paper. You won’t have to make an extra stop to find packaging to wrap these in. We all know how annoying it is to have to track down wrapping paper after buying a gift.
I hope if you are a mother this Mother’s Day that you are spoiled by your people and have the most special day! I plan to spend my day tomorrow with my mom and my kids and have the most relaxing time possible. Have you taken a peek at these L’Occitane gift sets in store? Is there one that appeals to you most?
