I dabble in a lot of different makeup brands, but one I haven’t visited in a long time is Pur Minerals. I actually love this brand so much that on many of the rare occasions in which I’ve completely finished up a product it’s been by Pur. I don’t buy from them very often simply because I’m more of a Sephora girl. Ulta is further away from me so I never end up going there. Recently I reconnected with the brand and discovered The Freedom Collection*, and I had to share with you all because I found some new favorite products that I’ve become obsessed with. To top it all off, this set is an AMAZING value and I think you’re going to need it.
The Freedom Collection is a four piece set and is limited edition. It retails for $39 which is INSANE because it has four items (actually five if you include the cushion foundation refill) and of those everything besides the mascara is full size. You get your shade of Air Perfection (mine is light), a refill packet of the Air Perfection, Double Ego Eyeliner in Tasmania, Lip Gloss Stick in Berry Pretty, and Mini Volume Vixen Mascara.
Let’s start with my favorite. Air Perfection has amazing coverage and takes literally 15 seconds to apply to my whole face. I have used and loved other foundation by Pur so I wasn’t at all surprised to fall in love with this. If you were to buy this at Ulta, you would get this with the full sized refill for $43 which in and of itself is already more money than the total price of this kit. See, I told you it was an amazing deal! The coverage is buildable and my skin looks seriously flawless when I wear this. The little cushion it comes with is perfect for applying it. I am careful to pat/blot it on to my skin rather than smearing it. It has SPF 50 as well which makes it perfect for the sunnier weather that’s ahead.
Next up, the Double Ego Eyeliner in Tasmania. This is so unique because one side is a liquid liner and the other side is a pencil liner. I love the idea of this because I typically will apply liquid liner on my upper lash line for strong definition, and something pencil on the lower for a softer line. Never do I see both in the same wand, so that is something special! Tasmania is a dark chocolate shade and it’s deep enough that it is perfect for defining my eyes. I have to have darker eyeliner since my eyes are so dark and this is the perfect non-black shade for me. This alone retails for $21 and you’re getting the full size in the set!
The Lip Gloss Stick in Berry Pretty is the perfect every day shade for me. What I love about this is that it gives me glossy lips without the stickiness of a lip gloss. It’s also somewhat long wearing. I love the pencil application method and I love how buttery smooth and soft my lips are when I wear this. It retails at $18 by itself and I could totally see picking up more of these.
Lastly, the Volume Vixen Mascara. The only mini in the collection, and for me the only dud. I was excited to try this, but the formula was just too wet and the applicator let out way too much product at once when I opened the tube. I had my makeup done perfectly, applied mascara, immediately realized I was about to make a huge mess of my face, and in the process of trying to find something to take it off literally got this stuff ALL over my face. It was a clumpy, wet mess. If I am feeling brave later I may try it again after wiping the applicator down. I think the wand looks promising with the right amount of mascara!
