I’ve had an itch to find a new foundation to love. That feeling led me to Sephora last night and I almost splurged on this one but decided to come home and shop my stash instead. I have so many foundations and so many REALLY GOOD foundations that I decided I’d like to share a few of my newer ones with you. These three are ones I’ve been testing in the past month or so that I thought you might enjoy.

Three Foundations to Try- Shiseido Synchro Skin, Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting, Westmore BeautyWestmore Beauty Coverage Protector 2-in-1 Foundation is not new, but it’s new to me. This is a neat foundation that is buildable in coverage, long wearing, and acts as a foundation plus concealer in one. It’s meant to give you skin like you’d find on the red carpet from the Hollywood celebrities. It glides on beautifully, the formula is super creamy, and it didn’t dry out my already dry skin.

There are a couple things I don’t like about it. The pump does not pick up the formula at all. I pumped the pump probably 100 times and nothing came out. In the end I took the lid off to get to the product. I also don’t like the brush at all and prefer to apply it with my hands after applying primer to my face. However, I have to admit that the good outweighs the bad with this one. It reminds me of my favorite Shiseido foundation that comes at a luxury price tag. It also comes with a brush so it’s a good value (if you like the brush) and you get both the foundation and brush for only $32. Overall this is a great foundation and I highly recommend it.

Westmore Beauty Coverage Perfector 2-in-1 FoundationBecca’s new foundation, the Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation is the next up. There’s a lot going on here. It has a pump (that doesn’t work all that well TBH), claims light buildable coverage, an ultra-lightweight formula, and “luminosity.” I’ve been wearing this paired with Becca Backlight Priming Filter (read review) and have found they’re a match made in heaven for my dry/combination skin. My skin has been kind of finicky lately, with dry and oily patches and when I wear this, it kind of perfects everything across the board and makes my skin look dewy. There IS such a thing as too much of this. I find that one pump applied with a Beauty Blender is the perfect amount to make me look healthy and glowy, but more than that and everything starts to look kind of like a disco ball. When I get shiny I reach for my powder, and this doesn’t pair well with a powder for me!

If you have oily skin this will probably melt right off your face, but for my combo/dry skin I thought it was great! It is best for daytime wear because it is so light. If I was going to go out at night I would probably choose something a little more full coverage, since it’s pretty light on its own and the more I build it the less I like it. I think I’m going to get the most use out of this in the summer when I tend to wear barely any makeup. It wears flawlessly paired with the Backlight Priming Filter on dry skin with no powder. If this doesn’t sound like you I would definitely get a sample in store before buying.

Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting FoundationLastly, I’ve got the Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 to show you. I have always liked Shiseido foundations. Even the sheer coverage formulas they carry tend to mask my imperfections well without covering me like a mask. This foundation is no exception! This foundation has medium, lightweight coverage and it works great with my dry skin. The formula is watery like the Becca one I just talked about but instead of drying to a luminous finish this one is more of a silky matte finish. It’s very long wearing and works great with a powder. I wore this to take our family pictures recently because I knew it was a formula that would look as great as it felt on my skin and it photographed really well!

Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20Despite having a bunch of foundations on hand that I am really enjoying right now, I still find myself wanting to add to my collection! A few that have captured my attention recently are the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream, Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation SPF 15 PA++, and the tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I actually didn’t have ANY February beauty buys because I didn’t do a lot of shopping this month for myself so maybe I’ll treat myself to one of those in March.

What have you been using and loving lately? I’m always up for recommendations!

I just got the Becca! I’m mostly oily but I’m trying to find that perfect foundation that makes me matte but glowy. I figure I’ll test this with my matte primers and cross my fingers lol

I’ve never tried any of the Shiseido foundations but you have certainly got me curious about them. The Becca filter sounds interesting. I’m going to get a sample of that! Overall, I love the trend toward lightweight, water based foundations that still product good coverage.

I love the sound of a silky matte finish. I just picked up the Lancome Teinte Idole. I love it.

I know what you mean about wanting new foundations, even though I should shop my stash! Kiko is having a face sale today, and I want to try some of theirs, but I’m trying to resist! lol. I have been LOVING the It Cosmetics sponge foundation on my oily skin. It feels like I have nothing on, it’s so light.
