I’ve been testing out a skincare line that’s new to me and I was so excited to share with you my thoughts today. I’ve been wanting to try out Belif* forever! I’ve been testing out three of their steps for a very basic skincare routine. If you’re not familiar with Belif, I think some of their skincare philosophies are very interesting. They believe in using the highest quality natural raw materials, herbal remedies, and centuries old formulas. I’ve always been curious to try their brand!
The cleanser I tried is the Creamy Cleansing Foam Moist. This is the second step in my cleansing routine. I am using PurErb Cleansing Oil to remove my makeup or freshen up my morning skin, and then I move onto this product. I’m using my Foreo Luna (read review) to work the cleanser around on my skin for the best cleanse. There are a lot of awesome ingredients at play here, and you can see they having nothing to hide by the front of their packaging. They list that it’s free of mineral oil, SLS, synthetic preservatives, dyes, fragrances, and animal origin ingredients.
There is a lot of lather in this cleanser. I feel like it’s gentle on my dry skin but I’m getting an effective cleanse. There is no makeup residue or grime left on my skin after I use this. I feel squeaky clean but my skin hasn’t been stripped. I was pleased to see there was still a moisture balance in my skin after using this. I am still working on getting rid of some breakouts that I was complaining about a few weeks ago, but this is keeping everything under control for the most part. Since it’s creamy and foaming, the Foreo Luna is working GREAT in conjunction with this.
Next up is the Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner. This is formulated for normal to combination skin. This is different than most toners I have used and stuck with in the past. The bergamot and sage clarify, hydrate and lock in moisture. Most of the toners I have used seem to refresh the skin but also take away some of the moisture in the process. I wasn’t expecting something so nourishing when I applied this with a cotton ball. It’s a botanical toner as well and has a gel-liquid format. It was just different than what I was expecting!
Truth be told, I enjoy the way this feels on my skin but I kind of miss the cooling sensation that came with other toners I have tried, particularly Clinique’s #2 Toner. I still plan to finish this up, especially since I am trying to introduce more natural and botanical skincare ingredients to my routine. I think dry skinned gals like myself are going to enjoy this a lot!
Lastly, I’ve been testing out The True Cream- Aqua Bomb. I was more excited to try this than any of the aforementioned products in the line. Every time I read about the Belif brand in a magazine or on the internet they seem to be referencing Aqua Bomb. This is a lightweight moisturizer that’s a gel-cream and has loads of refreshing hydration. This is such a great moisturizer for me, and I’m enjoying using it both morning and night.
The super lightweight formula makes it an ideal product to infuse moisture into the skin but be able to immediately apply makeup afterwards. That’s one of my biggest gripes about a heavy cream in the morning. It may make my skin look fabulous and glowy, but I’ll be waiting at least ten minutes to apply anything over top of it! The formula is a blend of apothecary herbs and is formulated to “burst” when applied, releasing weightless moisture onto the skin. It’s really just a great moisturizer and I am seriously in love with it!
I’m keeping it simple lately and have used little else on my skin besides these three products recently. The only other thing I’m really reaching for is my eye cream and serum and Murad’s Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence (read review) that I JUST ran out of last night. In my March Beauty Buys post coming up next week I’ll share some of the new skincare goodies I just bought as well as how I plan to shake up my skincare routine next. I have been noticing some flakiness and dullness so I picked up a few new things as well as a new skincare tool I’m excited to try. I may do a compare/contrast post with the Foreo Luna, my Clarisonic and my new tool to share the difference, so stay tuned!
Have you tried anything from Belif yet? I can’t believe I’m JUST trying the brand but it was worth the wait! I think the moisturizer was my favorite part of the set for sure.
