There is no greater pick me up than a gorgeous highlighter. When it comes to picking a highlighter, there are so many choices to make- drugstore vs. high end, cream vs. powder, shimmer vs. sheen. I was on a highlighter conquest for the longest time and picked up several duds as well as a few knockout formulas and now I know exactly what it is that I’m looking for. I love a creamy texture, which can be found in both cream and powder formulas. I like a vibrant highlight that can be sheered out, and I like Becca’s options better than any on the market. Truly, I can’t remember the last time I bought a highlighter that wasn’t by Becca. They just do it right!
Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured* comes in five shades, of which I have four. These are richly pigmented and creamy highlighters, the color payoff is high, and you get a gorgeous shimmer that will sheer out to look natural or can be built up on your cheeks for a more intense glow. I have been using my fingers or a dense stippling brush to get the formula out of the pan and on to the high points of my face.
These work in a multitude of ways for me. The lightest two shades, Pearl and Moonstone are beautiful on my fair skin. Opal and Rose Gold are a little darker but make great highlighters in the summer on me, and they also look gorgeous when worn as eyeshadow. Rose Gold also makes a gorgeous luminescent cream blush shade. If a highlighter shade is too dark to really highlight you, try bringing it down onto your cheekbones as a blush or over top of your blush. I am finding that darker highlighters that I can only wear in the summer look amazing in the winter if I wear them over top of blush. It gives the same effect as the Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffles that I love so much- a blush swirled with highlighter is so pretty!
Pearl, Moonstone, Opal, Rose Gold
My favorite shade of these four is the Pearl. I’m pretty light right now and it’s just so pretty on my fair skin. I wore this in my review post on the Becca Backlight Priming Filter (review) and I thought I’d include the picture below as well. I sheered it out but you can see how glowy it still looks on my skin!
Love these cream highlighters so much. I am working on a post of highlighters that work well on fair skin. I have a few favorites that I tend to reach for so I’ll keep you updated soon.
Have you tried the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured? What would your shade be?
