how to cover gray hair without dye

I struggle with making the time to schedule a hair appointment. I usually need a color every 6-8 weeks, but lately I’ve been trying to stretch it to 10 weeks in hopes to save some money. When I discovered Gray Away by Everpro, I finally found a way to temporarily cover up those stray grays and lengthen my visits to the hair salon.

Gray Away is a simple solution to those flyaway gray hairs. It covers roots and eliminates those pesky gray hairs that pop up out of no where. It’s 1.5 ounce container is a perfect travel size so it can be tossed in your purse, just in case you need it on the go. One spray bottle contains 40 applications and is only $9.99 so you will be good to go for over a month of use.

The directions encourage the user to hold the container 2-3 inches away from where you will be spraying it. I tried it on a paper towel first so I could see just how it sprayed. It does have a fine tip spray, but it applies evenly as long as you follow the instructions.

There is a hairspray like texture to Gray Away after it has settled in. Don’t let that diminish your efforts to ‘do’ your hair the way you want, though. You can brush through your hair after Gray Away has dried and your hair will feel just fine. It is fast drying, sweat resistant, and it reacts fine with other hair styling products in case you need to apply any. I typically straighten my hair and didn’t have any problems. Naturally my hair is thick and wavy.

Not sure which shade to purchase? The pictures above depict the darkest shade available but I ended up going with the Light Brown because I wanted to make sure it would capture the highlights in my hair. The nice thing about Gray Away is that it blends in with your hair color within reason because of its self-adjusting technology. You don’t need to have a perfect match when picking up the product! The three shades available in their range are Lightest Brown/Medium Blonde, Light Brown, and Black/Dark Brown.

There are so many simplistic reasons to have Gray Away in your hair. It’s a fast, temporary result for those inbetween color trips to the hair salon. It’s affordable and easy to carry around without hassle. It is also easy to find at any local drug store! Check them out on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook

My hair is red, and it is very difficult to find a decent color match. I use a mascara-style coverup sold at the beauty supply houses. Easy peasy

Looks really helpful if you have greys! Glad I don’t have those yet.

I remain skeptical that this could cover my greys… I have a bumper crop under all of this dye! lol

I like this for in between appointments. I go every 4 weeks for color but like to stretch it as far as possible and Gray Away definitely helps.
