We had our first snow of the season last week and I am DRY. I knew when the temperature dropped I would have to up the ante on my skincare routine but it kind of crept up on me out of nowhere this season! I am actually about to start testing out some Paula’s Choice skincare for a while (I’m so excited! I’ve heard AMAZING things about her line!) but I had these out on my bathroom counter the day and decided I needed to give them a shot. I’m basically in love so of course I needed to share!

Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask is a super hydrating mask that I know will be getting a lot of mileage this season. The formula has protective oats-colloidal oatmeal and avena sativa oat bran- plus botanical antioxidants and other skin nourishing ingredients. I remember when my three year old was first born, in September, and her poor little baby skin was so dry. Our pediatrician told us to look for body lotion with colloidal oatmeal and it made ALL the difference for her. All of her angry looking red patches of dryness went away immediately. This mask had a similar effect on my skin. It made my face feel so soft and supple. Best of all, I love that this comes in a tube so I can keep it sanitary and it’s really not that expensive. The small size is $9. I know I’ll be replenishing!

Although I usually stick to a regular skincare routine, when my skin gets all wacky I will skip steps or add different steps in. I can already tell if I am going to be outside for a length of time in the dry winter air that I will be using this on my face overnight. This can actually be used head-to-toe and it’s meant for hydrating skin that’s so dry it’s itchy. My skin has been acting out a little bit with the harsh winter air and when I applied this before bed my skin was renewed by morning and felt SO good. It was such a skin drink and I could just tell the formula was high quality and had everything in it that you would ever want for dry skin.

I also wanted to mention that for a product that is meant to deeply hydrate, I was surprised by how quickly this absorbed into my skin. I’ve only used it a couple times, but one of the times I tested it out was when I was wearing the It Cosmetics Foundation Illumination, in this post. Wearing a pressed powder can really emphasize my dry patches, but this powder is top notch. I did NOT, however, think it would glide on as beautifully as it did with an ultra thick moisturizer on top. It went on beautifully though, and I thought it was worth noting that the moisturizer works great at night or under makeup!

first aid beauty ultra repair creamI will have some holiday gift sets from First Aid Beauty to share with you, probably next week! This brand is SO great. I used their products a couple years ago when I lived in Washington but kind of forgot about them in the last few years. I’m reading lots of great reviews this year though, and I’m eager to test out more of their line in the future.

What are you using for skincare right now? Is your skin super dry in the winter? Tell me about your miracle products!
