What’s your favorite lipstick formula?

This is a tough question because I have developed a fondness for lipstick over the last couple years that I never knew was possible. I never used to wear lipstick, but once I had kids I realized it was one of the easiest ways to look put together in the two seconds it takes to swipe the shade across your lips. Now I can’t get enough of the stuff! I’ve got several favorite formulas by different brands.

My current favorite lipstick formula is the Bite Beauty Luminous Créme Lipstick. I own quite a few of these in the full size and even more in the minis that they have out for the holidays, but my ride or die lately has been Apricot followed closely by Pepper. You guys…LOVE. The lipstick is anti-aging and each tube has the amount of resveratrol found in five glasses of red wine. They don’t put any junk in their ingredients either. No parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetics, polybutenes, etc. And they use food-grade ingredients that are healthy enough to eat.

Pepper I mentioned in my Fall Favorites post. It’s still a favorite obviously. It’s a perfect dusty rose shade and the neutral tones don’t make my skin look yellow and the shade doesn’t wash me out at all. Good nude shades that jive with your complexion are hard to find and this is a good one. Buy it up! Apricot is another win for me. I have a thing for orange and it’s such a seasonal shade right now so of course I’m getting a ton of mileage out of this shade. I don’t know where you live but Fall here is lasting FOREVER (not complaining) and we are only just expecting our first snow fall tomorrow, in the middle of November! Apricot is a warm red but to me it is really a red-orange and so wearable, even if you’re afraid of color!

When I wear one of these, my lips are in better shape after I have worn it than before. They’re moisturizing and hydrating and all that good stuff. They also tend to fade evenly. I was at a church function tonight and I wore Apricot and after eating and drinking there was no patchiness. It still looked fabulous!

If you are interested in checking these out, I would also recommend Vigne (fuschia berry) and Granache (cool pink). Both are in the berry/purple range and are definitely HG status for me. Honestly, just check out all the shades, I don’t think there’s a bad one in the bunch!
