Recently, I found my holy grail powder highlight and contour kit and I’ve since been on the search for a good cream contour and highlight. I’ve tried several things that I really liked over the years but when it comes down to it, I don’t always have the time for a powder H & C. It can be time consuming to track down the proper brush to use and even more time consuming to properly blend it without it getting muddy. I also find the powder products easy to overdo. Really, I needed to find a very natural looking cream based product. I’m not after Kardashian-esque cheekbones here, just something that’s quick and easy and looks great for every day!

Enter Hefty Highlight and Curvy Contour by Clinique. I am seriously in love with these two items and I think I’ve used them every single day for the past three weeks. These have become quick favorites because of how foolproof and easy they are to use. Both are long wearing. The contour has a matte finish, and the highlight has a satin finish. I think both are easily able to pass for a natural glow and contour that almost mimics no makeup on perfect skin which is the look I’m going for!

clinique highlight and contourI’ve swatched these products below for you. There is currently only one shade available in the contour, and for my fair skin this is the perfect color. I don’t think this would work on darker skin tones, but hopefully if it becomes a successful product, they’ll release more color options.

clinique highlight and contour swatchesI quickly used Photoshop to show you where I apply this on my face. I don’t really do that much highlighting or contouring but I do think it makes your face look a bit slimmer and more healthy if you have some contrast within your base face makeup. I’m sure on the official highlighting and contouring facial charts there is a lot more you can do to sculpt your face, but on a day to day basis, this is plenty for me. I have used both my fingers and a Beauty Blender sponge to blend it out when it’s all ready. I’ve found both techniques have worked well with these products.

Cream contour and highlight was my secret weapon on the brides I would do makeup on… they loved how long it would last. These sound like they would be great.

I have these in my stash also! They’re fabulous cream products and the chubby factor makes them the perfect size for application!

I also use a beautyblender to blend out cream contouring and highlighting formulas – works like a charm!
