This post is created in partnership with Pretty Woman. All opinions are my own.nail medic systemI have never been great at taking care of my nails. That’s probably why you don’t see them featured very often on my site! I keep my nails short, rounded, and bare and rarely do I ever paint them or buff them. I don’t have a good reason for being this way- I love nail polish on my toes, but I have never been one to paint my fingernails on a regular basis.

I’ve kind of had a change of heart though lately and I want my nails to look nice. I use my hands for everything I do! Mothering, typing on the computer, driving, doing the dishes, etc. They deserve some TLC from time to time. So when I discovered Nail Medic, a system meant to bring back the natural nail look using concepts of skin care and hair care into nail care, I was immediately intrigued. I’m not quite ready to warm a colorful nail but I can definitely rock a healthy bare nail!

nail medic bottlesThis is a 3-phase anti-aging nail treatment system. Each step has many different options for treatment depending on your nail’s needs. All the products are available at Walmart for $7.99. I have three products (one from each step) to share with you today.

Phase One- Nail Detox. Nail Cleaner & Primer nail medic step 1An advanced nail cleanser and primer that eliminates impurities caused by environmental stress and preps the nail for a manicure. Cranberry and lemon extracts purify the nail and lifts away embedded grime. Soap bark extract and witch hazel detoxify the nail plate, helping to return it to a natural, balanced state. Instructions: apply 1 to 2 coats to bare nails. Allow to dry.

When I applied this to my nails it smelled similar to nail polish remover. The scent was not over powering and faded by the time I was on to the next step. It absorbed quickly.

Phase Two- Triple Treat. Nail & Cuticle Conditioner nail medic step 2A “triple threat” of functional oils, etracts, and vitamins that work together to provide anti-aging properties while maintaining healthy nails and cuticles. Jojoba and black currant oils nourish and seal moisture into the nail, bamboo extract and Vitamin E hydrate and protect the nail from environmental stressors. Instructions: Shake before use. Apply to bare nails and cuticles, allow to dry.

This had a pleasant smell, and the oil distributed easily without getting everywhere. After only one use, I could tell a difference in the softness of my cuticles on my left hand where I used it, and on my right hand, where I didn’t use it. It took a few minutes to dry.

Phase Three- CC Cream Lacquer. Color Correcting Base Coatnail medic 3Optical brighteners help restore discolored nails. Antioxidants protect from damage caused by free radicals and environmental stress. Infused with white tea extract, keratin protein and Vitamin E, this luminous treatment base coat helps protect stressed nails, making them instantly appear whiter and brighter. Instructions: Apply 1 to 2 coats to bare nails. Allow to dry.

This was my favorite step. My nails have lots of ridges and they’re not bright by any stretch of the imagination. I loved how this added a little brightening to my nails. It doesn’t translate as much in pictures but it really seems to have a glow about the shade.

nail medic 3 step systemI’ve been using these for a few weeks and I really feel converted to taking better care of my nails! Natural nails are back in style! Would you use these products? There are so many to choose from at Walmart!
