Thank you Anise Labs for sponsoring today’s post. Opinions are honest and my own.

clinical dark spots correctorMy #1 skin care gripe is dark spots. Every time I apply skincare, morning and night, I am cursing those little dark spots that grace my cheeks and wishing I hadn’t spent so much time out in the sun when I was younger. Every skincare product I buy is in hopes that it will combat those pesky spots. I use and test a lot of skincare and I can tell you that most things, even the really expensive things, don’t do a lot for me. I particularly remember a skincare product I purchased this spring in the $75 range. It never made it to the blog because it didn’t work!

Of course when I heard that Anise Labs had launched a potential solution for me at only $13, I jumped at the opportunity to test it out! Now available at 2000 Walmart stores (and later this year, ULTA and other drugstore chains) Anise Labs has launched three skincare products under the new Solutions 24 CLINICAL brand. Each addresses a specific skin problem; dark circles, dark spots, or puffy eyes. Truthfully, I could’ve tested each of these products. I have a teething daughter (almost 1!) and I’m not getting much sleep. At that price point, I am definitely picking up the other two items mentioned here, but today I wanted to tell you more about my experience with the Clinical Dark Spots Corrector Kit

dark spots correctorWhat I love most about this besides the low price point is the stick applicator. There is quite a lot in here and I can see how much I have left! The pricey serums I have I often can’t get all the product out of, and some gets wasted. Even with a q-tip or something to reach the bottom of the jar, sometimes I can’t even get the tube open. The application for this is a dream. With a stick applicator and balm-like texture, it’s not going to leak and it’s perfectly portable.

According to their website, after 4 weeks, clinical studies show that the natural actives used in the Dark Spots Corrector significantly lightens pigmentation of the skin by reducing melanin production in the skin’s layers- the biological cause of dark spots. Dark spots are from sun damage, age, post acne marks, freckles, and naturally darker areas of the skin.

dark spot corrector stickI had a great experience with this product. It has a balmy and non greasy texture and when I wear it under makeup it gives a very dewy finish to my cheeks. They are soft and hydrated. Wearing it at night I have the same experience. When I apply it, my overall skin tone looks more even and radiant. After a couple weeks of use, I see subtle fading of some of the darker areas. I took a before and after picture and decided not to post them because the results aren’t dramatic, but they’re definitely there. When I notice them most is when I apply makeup. I typically wear light to medium coverage foundation and if I want to cover some of the darker spots on my cheeks I’ll have to go back in with a concealer, but since using the Dark Spots Corrector I have found that my makeup is covering better all by itself. No need for extra concealer!

selfieI’m going to keep using this because I’m impressed with the results I’ve seen in only a few weeks. I’m excited to see my results at the eight week mark, which is where the dramatic results are supposed to be visible. I especially love that they’re not using hydroquinone as an ingredient to lighten.

This is definitely worth looking into if you have some spots you’re trying to lighten. Have you seen this around yet? I’d love to know if you’ve tried it and seen results!

Fading dark spots is an exercise in frustration! I spent years fading post acne discolouration. I’m just at the point where I don’t have to use concealer on those areas and I started in my thirties. With Retinol. lol I’m glad that this is working for you. 🙂
