A couple Friday nights ago I was supposed to be grocery shopping but given the opportunity to be kid free for my errand, I whizzed off to Boston Store first! Ha! I was looking for some boots and ended up with these which I adore, and then I stopped by the Clinique counter to see if they had some stuff I was wanting to check out. Of course, I didn’t get out of there empty handed…I never do!
I bought a couple things I had been wanting for a while and some stuff that just came out! I was pretty excited about my little haul. And they were also in their Gift With Purchase so of course I got even more goodies that way.
The first thing I picked up was the Clinique Airbrush Concealer in Illuminator. I don’t think this is new to their product line but it’s new to me. I’m obsessed with concealers meant for the under eye area and am also completely obsessed with Clinique’s Line Smoothing Concealer. The shade I own is meant for my winter skin tone (so super fair!) and I’m sure I’ll be getting it back out again soon once my summer tan is completely faded. Anyway, I popped on the Illuminator shade over top of the concealer I was already wearing that day and it looked AMAZING so I had to buy it. It’s a sheer-coverage concealer that comes out of the brush applicator and applies so beautifully. It’s super lightweight and brightens that whole area for me. Somehow the formula is incapable of caking up on me. It really softened my under eye area and none of it got caught in fine lines which is a major plus. I have been getting 2-3 hours of sleep all week (we’re teething 4 molars at once over here, woot!) so with my lack of sleep I am doubling this up with concealer underneath, but on a good skin day with normal sleep, I could swing it alone. If I had to compare this to something, I would say it’s a MUCH cheaper version of the YSL Touche Éclat that everyone raves about. I own that too but the Clinique is less than half the price. I have this on rotation with my Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector right now. Love both!
Next up, the Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara in Portly Plum. I originally wanted Black Honey of this, but I think that one’s online exclusive? Anyway, I purple is my favorite color so I had to own this! The brush for Chubby Lash reminds me a lot of the brush for Dior Addict It-Lash Mascara (review/buy) and that is one of my favorites so I knew I would love this! This mascara is newer to the line and I am really enjoying it! It’s meant for volumizing with rich, intense color and no clumps, flakes, or smudges. The purple is not super obvious, it’s more of a tint and I think the color is intense enough that it still defines my lashes without needing a coat of black underneath. The only thing is the brush comes out really wet and coated with mascara so I’m having to wipe it off on the applicator before applying. It applies really well after that and I’m really loving it!
I’m obsessed with Clinique’s Cheek Pops (I own 5 now!) and when Pansy Pop came out I was really intrigued by the intense lilac type shade. I thought it definitely had the ability to be gorgeous but it’s something I’d have to try in person before buying just because the shade was so…different. It turns out, I LOVE it. It comes off as a gorgeous light purpley-pink on me and looks great on its own or when layered over something else. I have been getting a lot of mileage out of Josie Maran’s Argan Color Stick in Glow (review/buy) lately, and I have been layering them with awesome results in color and staying power. Cheek Pops are obviously adorable because they have a flower shape embossed in the compact, but they’re also super silky and smooth and vibrant, so once you try one you will LOVE it and need them all like I do!
Since they’re in gift right now, I was able to get some other goodies like a Clinique Intense Charcoal Quickliner for Eyes. I love these eyeliners and I’m pretty sure it’s full size! I also got a mini of Clinique Happy and some other goodies. I’m wearing everything below!
My lip color here is Shiseido Veiled Rouge in Sloe (RS308). Shiseido is partnering Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) to support their philanthropic arm, Cancer and Careers. Cancer and Careers is a non-profit dedicated to supporting working people living with cancer. Shiseido is donating $5 for every Veiled Rouge in Pomegranate, Skyglow, and Sloe purchased in store and online through the month of October.
Sloe is a gorgeous vibrant berry pink that I LOVE. It’s a blue-based pink that make my teeth look white when I smile and makes me feel good about supporting a great cause as well. I love how the formula is super shiny and pretty yet stays put on my lips too! I don’t think you can go wrong with this beauty purchase! If you are out and about checking some of these Clinique purchases out in store, swing by your Shiseido counter and pick up Sloe too!
