The subscription box craze is real, and although I’ve abstained from most of the options out there, I couldn’t resist subscribing to Jouer’s Le Matchbox. I haven’t seen much out there about this on the internet, but it’s definitely one of my favorite boxes that are available right now.  It’s a quarterly box and the summer one just came out! See what I got below.

jouer le matchbox summer 2015I subscribe to the cool option. It’s $65 to buy a one time box, or $45 to have it auto sent to you as a subscription. I freaking LOVED the last box so I was really eager to get the summer one. In this month’s box I got five things.

le matchbox summer 2015 makeupI really liked this box, and between this one and the last one you can put together a full makeup look with all Jouer (minus a foundation). I have only used these things a handful of times but I’ll give you some feedback on what I thought!

Lip Sheer SPF in Tulum: This is a really nice cool toned pink. It’s slightly buildable in coverage. It was smoothing and lightly hydrating and a flattering color. The color didn’t last a super long time on me before fading away. I love that it’s got a bit of SPF. It retails at $24 so I’m glad I own one but I don’t think I’ll be running to buy every other shade they carry.

Everyday Effortless Mascara in Brun: A brown/black mascara? No thanks. I wore it in these pictures but it was underwhelming. I’m also a “go big or go home” mascara wearer- I opt for drama and volume on a daily basis. So every day natural lash mascaras aren’t really my jam anyway. It’s decent but I already put it in a pile that I’ll pass along to a friend.

le matchbox makeup summerCréme eyeshadow in Organza: This is a shimmering lavender taupe shade. I have a swatch below if you keep scrolling. It’s a gorgeous shimmery shade that I instantly fell in love with. It is super lightweight and the creamy factor of it is super slick. You don’t get a lot of it on your finger when you’re going in. You can layer it on top of itself, put something over it, or smudge it under the lash line. I’ve worn it by itself so far and it gives a sheer glimmer that I love, but it creases after a few hours. I’m going to try it again with a primer and see how that goes!

Cheek and lip tint in Petal: Petal is a soft rose pink. I liked this a lot on my cheeks, which is how I wore it for this post. It’s really blendable and you need very little. I am pretty sure this is the only sample sized product I got this month. It comes in a cardboard packaging, whereas the rest seem to be full size and in the packaging that can all be linked together into a palette. This is meant to be worn on lips or cheeks.

jouer le matchbox bronzerMineral powder bronzer in Suntan: This was my favorite item in the box this month. The shade is a matte honey bronze. I love that it’s matte because that follows current makeup trends. It’s super easy to contour with and it’s a long shape that works perfectly with my makeup brushes. I like to use a fan brush to contour. This alone is worth $30 and I think it’s worth every penny. It’s super long wearing and the perfect shade for me. I’m pretty fair even with a tan and it doesn’t get muddy on me at all.

Very pretty! Is that the bronzer or are you just that tan? Seems like a pretty good deal for what you get! Blush and eyeshadow colors are gorgeous

Thanks 🙂 I have been using sunless tanner. I will do a post on it soon! I’m not that tan naturally lol. And yes, it’s a great value. I’ll probably subscribe for a year and then stop. I don’t need to do it forever but I’m liking the new stuff!
