I told myself when the year started that I was going to do a major no buy for a few months and no sooner did the words leave my brain than I knew it wasn’t true. LOL. I did cut back for a bit but even that may not be true when I look back on some pics I took of stuff that I never posted a while ago. Oh well. Better luck next month, right? Sephora just had their VIB Rouge sale last week and I wanted to clue you in on what I bought.

I didn’t have intentions of buying anything, but I have been trying to fade some dark spots on my face that I am pretty sure are the results of sun damage. I have freckles that are not fading and I am afraid my naughty days of skimping on the SPF are coming back to haunt me. I went to Sephora with plans of checking out Murad Rapid Age Spot & Pigment Lightening Serum or to see if there was anything else that would target my concerns. The saleswoman said that was a good one but I should try the Peter Thomas Roth ‘De-Spot’ Skin Brightening Corrector instead, because that one has more immediate results. Of course that one was also more expensive, but I figured for 15% I should give it a shot.

I was all set with my purchase and even had it home and when I went to go and use it that night before bed, I noticed that my bottle was leaking. No, scratch that. It was empty. Oh wait…they sold me a tester.

I was kind of annoyed because it takes me 25 minutes to get to my nearest Sephora from my house. I don’t mind the drive but I realize when a store makes an oopsies like this and sells you an empty bottle, you probably can’t wait a week or two to return it. Time is of the essence. I had a super busy week last week, but figured I better get back there ASAP. I was in pretty good spirits when I got to the store and since I still had my 15% off that was usable all week, I figured I may as well grab a couple more items I had my eye on.

I have been using Tarte’s Colored Clay Liquid Brow Gel (review here) pretty regularly but was wanting to switch back to a pencil for a while. I’ve always wanted to try Anastasia’s Brow Wiz and figured that it was a good time to try it out. I bought Medium Ash Brown. Also, I use and love the UDPP but felt like it was drying out my lids lately, so I wanted to explore new eyeshadow primers. I ended up with Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer.

I took some before pictures of my face to compare in a couple weeks from now to see if the PTR serum is working or not. I’ll be sure to keep you posted. In the meantime, does anyone else find it super annoying that being a VIB Rouge offers almost NO benefits? Did you buy anything during the sale? Fill me in!
