A couple months ago, I was shopping my own stash and happened upon a big box of unused, still boxed up skincare. In the box was an unused Lancome Visionnaire serum. I honestly can’t remember if it was a press sample or something I picked up from the store. I find it shameful that I’ve been holding onto it long enough that I don’t remember where it came from, so I decided to use it up already! Just this week, I used the whole bottle up, so I thought I’d share my thoughts.

Lancome Visionnaire is described as a second generation serum with the Double Jasmonate Complex. Some of the benefits of using this long term include correcting wrinkles, pores and skin texture. Some of the good things supposed to happen right away, and some over time.

A major skin gripe of mine is texture. Over time, now that I’m in my late 20s, my skin has become slightly more finicky. My pores seem to be a little looser, I get hormonal breakouts more often, and some of those freckles I get in the summer don’t fade as much without some extra help from serums. Skincare that promises to be skin smoothing and work to banish some of these problems is definitely right up my alley.

lancome visionnaire 2I wish I had used this consistently the entire time that I was using it. This was my go-to serum when I was between reviews of other skincare and serums. It took me several months to finish up the bottle, but when I used it, morning and night, it really did make a big difference. It has the slightest bit of pearlescent shimmer that doesn’t really translate to the skin in shimmer form, but lends itself to that lit-from-within type glow. Immediately after applying, my skin was ultra smooth and soft, and the effect lasted for hours.

I thought I might have noticed a slight fading of dark spots on my skin with this, but it’s hard to be certain, since I used it before and after testing other things. It might have been my imagination! Either way, I really loved using this!

lancome visionnaire 3I’m a huge fan of the Lancome brand, and use many of their products. My favorite way to use this serum has been using the Visionnaire, then the Teint Visionnaire foundation, followed by the Dual Finish Powder. I tend to bounce around with what foundation I’m using at any given moment, but any time Lancome releases a new one, I jump on it. They do foundation really well and the Teint Visionnaire is no exception. I love that it comes with a matching concealer in the lid. For as much as I love skincare and foundations, I only have a couple powders I use. Dual Finish is my all time favorite formula. I love it and I’ve gone through several compacts since discovering it.

The effect I get from using the Visionnaire serum, Visionnaire foundation, and Dual Finish powder is similar to plastic. I mean that in the nicest way possible. I basically don’t have pores at all when I use these together. It’s like traveling back to being a teenager and how my skin looked then. Which is AWESOME. When I want to look fabulous, this is what I wear. I know that logically and truthfully the pores on your skin don’t open and shut like doors, and any product that claims they do is lying. But this is the closest you’re going to get! My pores appear to shut their little doors and go into hiding when I use this!

Have you used any Visionnaire products? I’m a major fan, obviously! If you go to check them out, see if your Lancome salesperson will do a demo on you using the foundation and powder too. It’s the trifecta, yo. You need to try it!

I haven’t used the Visionnaire line, tho’ I may have a sample someplace. But I’ve been using Genifique and actually just finished that up, and it was a lovely serum. Lancome makes good stuff 🙂

I can’t count how many times I’ve forgotten that I’ve had something like this. It’s a nice treat though when I do. I’m not much of a Lancome skincare person because of the fragrance.

I bought two full-sized bottles of Visionnaire when it came out (Kate Middleton and Emma Watson were on the waiting list LOL) but each time I used it, I would end up with the worst breakouts on the planet. Gave the bottles to my Mum who loved it and the product never affected her adversely. Maybe it is better for a certain type of skin.

I haven’t tried any Lancome products before, surprisingly! I’m also a total serum noob, but I have been wanting to try some out so this one may be added to the ‘potentials’ list!

I was pretty happy with this serum but I think I like pore refining solutions by Clinique better but I’m not sure how long my Visionair had been on the shelf before I got it for gratis.
