There are lots of fabulous gift sets in stores right now. I should know because Saturday I spent five hours shopping at the mall. Five! I have never done that before and certainly not with kids, but I took my youngest out shopping with me and marked every last person off my Christmas list besides my husband (who is in the doghouse for not getting me his Christmas list on time before I went shopping).
I’ve never spent five hours in a row at the mall before and I’ve also never waited until the week before Thanksgiving to shop but this year, we just had too much going on and it kept getting put off. Anyway, I wanted to show you a product I loved so much in a mini form that I had to go back for the full size today.
Josie Maran came out with the Infinitely Argan: Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil Duo in Timeless Coral and Everlasting Honey. I had previously tried Josie Maran’s Creamy Oil that came out a year or so ago and really liked it. It was great on my skin in the harsh winter. I was really excited to test out the colored version.
Add a pop of dewy, natural color on lips and cheeks with Josie’s travel-friendly Argan Infinity Intensive Creamy Oil. This set features lip and cheek tints for on-the-go moisture and color. Hydrating, nourishing, and Argan Oil-infused, these tinted formulas begin as a cream and melt into an oil for a sheer, natural-looking and non-greasy hue that suits all skin types and skin tones.
I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of color with these. They go on pretty sheer. You can build them up just a bit on your cheeks, but if you really want your blush to show, think of this as more of a blush base. I’ve been putting on my foundation and powder, then apply a bit of this to my cheek area. It doesn’t break up my powder at all, as liquids and creams sometimes do. I then apply blush on top for some added color. On the lips, this lasts for just an hour or so before completely fading but it’s moisturizing while it’s there. Just not very long wearing!
Timeless Coral (vibrant warm coral), Everlasting Honey (rosey nude)
By the looks of the tube, I didn’t think Everlasting Honey was going to come out so pink! I was kind of surprised but in a good way. It’s so sheer that it doesn’t interfere with whatever I want to put on top of it, but it just kind of warms my cheek color up and preps it for a little additional boost of color. Timeless Coral is slightly brighter but not really long wearing. I have worn both alone with no blush on top, they are just not super long wearing in terms of color. The softness will stay with me all day though!
When I squeeze these from the tube, often a little liquid will leak out before the creamy oil comes out. There’s no way of really shaking this, so when it separates like that, I just keep pushing through until the creamy oil comes out. It also feels smooth but every so often there’s a little gritty piece. I think that’s just the oil hardening in some places, but it still works great, I just rub it in.
I can tell you I had been wearing this on my cheeks a bunch lately, and then I stopped for a couple days. I could tell a noticeable difference in how soft my cheeks felt during those days. I forgot to wear it today and I felt it! If you have issues with dry skin and patchy looking blush in the winter, you will probably love these!
In the picture below, I am wearing Everlasting Honey on my cheeks with Becca Beach tint in Watermelon/Moonstone over top. When I was at the mall today, I thought about picking up a slightly brighter color so I tried on Boundless Berry, a rich cool wine shade. It’s the darkest in the collection and looks super gorgeous in the tube. It was REALLY bright and I think I put too much on or it’s just not as sheer as the others because it made me look like an insane clown. It was not workable once applied and it made me panic a little bit because I was in public and made myself look crazy. Luckily I was at Sephora so I could fix myself easily, but yikes. I actually think with a tan it might have been better but I am so fair right now that it just wasn’t good on me.
So if you think you might like these, try the duo first but if you want to go with something more intense, try them in the store first! I am really enjoying these and I need to go dig out my Creamy Oil moisturizer. It’s been a while since I’ve grabbed it but now that these are out I feel like rediscovering how awesome it is!
Have you tried these yet?
