It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a favorites post, so considering it’s a couple weeks before the holidays, I thought I’d point out a few items that have been getting a lot of mileage. A couple of these products are limited edition, and the rest can be purchased year round. I think they would all make fabulous gifts for any lucky lady on your Christmas list, and/or a great addition to your own wish list!
Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide in Shell. I had been using Ecru this summer, and that was a touch too dark for me at the time, but WAY too dark for me in the winter. I have just really enjoyed the formula of this and knew I would get a lot of use out of it if I purchased my current shade. You can read my review here.
Becca Shimmering Face Perfector Pressed in Moonstone. I had purchased the Spotlight Perfectors in liquid form during the Sephora VIB sale, and it got me thinking how much I enjoy the pressed powder formula as well. I dug this up from my stash and it’s been love!
Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture. I got a small size of this sent to me and it was enough to last me about three weeks, and also enough to get me completely hooked on the stuff! It leaves me feeling so moisturized. Between this and the Algenist that I reviewed recently, it’s really a tossup which I love most!
L’Occitane has the best hand creams. They always come out with mini sizes and they are the perfect size to stash in my coat pocket or jeans pocket. I don’t normally carry anything but chapstick in my pocket, but have been trying to stay ahead of my dry hands this winter. I typically end up having hands so chapped that my knuckles bleed, so avoiding that is a goal of mine!
Skin an Apothecary Santorini Soy Body Whip is such an amazing lotion. It’s a whip, so it’s light, but it’s really hydrating, and really fragrant. Santorini is a place in Greece, but I’m not sure if it’s also a “thing” that has a fragrance to it. It is a really elegant scent, whatever it is, and although my jar of it is small it’s lasting forever because a little goes a long way.
Essie The Perfect Cover Up has been my favorite nail polish of the month. It’s a mixture of teal and gray and it’s gorgeous. It’s a very wintery shade and I’m really enjoying it.
I travel a lot. Nowhere exciting, just to see family, but on a weekend trip I always pack the Tarte Fresh Eyes Maracuja Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Wipes. They are super easy to use, and they remove every trace of eye makeup, yes, even the waterproof stuff. They leave the slightest bit of moisture behind so they don’t leave me dry at all. There are 30 in a pack. I love them and I’m on my third pack since they released these!
The Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Eye Cream is awesome. I’ve always said that Clinique All About Eyes is my holy grail and you’ll be hard pressed to find any eye cream reviews on this site, because I just don’t try out anything else for more than a week before going back to my fave. The Algenist is giving it a run for its money. I don’t know which I’ll be buying next when I run out of this to be honest! Read my review of it here.
I am working on a pencil eyeliner eyeliner post right now. It’s in my draft and I am featuring a few brands, including Elizabeth Arden and Smashbox. I am loving both. I have a few from each range but from Elizabeth Arden, Blackberry is my favorite. It’s the perfect purple that is flattering on me and not too bright. I’ve also been digging Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof liner in Bare. I don’t tend to wear liner on my waterline because it makes my eyes itch, but this formula doesn’t. There’s also some self sharpening action, so I always have a perfect tip every time I open this.
Santa’s Lip Scrub from LUSH is rocking my world lately. I use it every night before bed. It’s red, has tiny hearts in it, and is cola-flavored. You can lick it off!
Speaking of lip scrubs, I’m also loving the Teadora Nourishing Lip Butter in Rainforest at Dusk. It smells and tastes like chocolate, and it’s got an interesting texture to it that gives your lips a bit of an exfoliation.
More lip stuff! I reviewed the Bite Beauty Matte Créme Lip Crayons a while back, and picked up a couple more shades that I was dying to try. Sucre is a warm pink, and Péche is a warm peach. Despite these descriptions, Péche seems to me to be a touch darker than Sucre. I love them both and they’re probably my two favorites out of the range.
butter LONDON Moisture Matte Lipstick in Abbey Rose is a gorgeous rose shade that works well with almost any makeup look. I’ve been wearing it a lot with a single wash of “Lucky” from the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette on my lids. So pretty!
L’Occitane Arlésiene has been hands down my favorite fragrance in the month of November. This perfume is a combination of rose, violet, and saffron. It is so lovely. It’s really floral, but not musky at all, and not overpowering. I will be wearing this a lot in the months to come I’m sure!
