Ever since I read this post, I’ve been wanting to pick up the Cargo Los Cabos blush. I am obsessed with reading other bloggers’ favorites and go to products that they use and I am always comparing them to what I use. I am always looking for the next best thing and always curious if others are using and loving what I use and love. I’ve barely tried any Cargo products, so when I read good things about this blush AND realized I had Birchbox points to spend, I was sold.
Inspired from CARGO’s award winning water resistant bronzer and packaged in their signature oversized silver tin, CARGO Water Resistant Blush offers a stunning array of wearable, pretty and professional quality shades for a variety of skin tones. Imparts an effortless summer glow that stays put rain or shine. This longwearing formula withstands perspiration so you don’t have to fuss with reapplication. Micronized light-diffusers work to ensure a gorgeously natural, non-shiny glow. Silky smooth texture that layers well for added intensity as desired. Paraben-free.
Los Cabos is described as a soft tangerine. I love this shade and think it’s such a great shade for year round. It’s not orange-y really, it’s kind of a spiced, bronzey-highlightey-corally shade. It has a lot less shimmer than Nars Orgasm. I wouldn’t even really classify this as shimmery, more like it has a sheen. It’s really long wearing, although I admit I didn’t test if it was water resistant like it claims to be. I’d be curious to try that in the summer!
The pan is HUGE. It basically fills up the palm of my hand. It’s like CARGO knows that when you buy a blush through them, it’s going to become your favorite, and you’ll want a lifetime supply. When this arrived to me, it had a plastic bottom that was propping it up in the pan. I’m not quite sure what that was all about, but I’ll probably glue the pan without the plastic into the bottom of the metal container.
So is it a dupe for Nars Orgasm? I definitely felt like I had a few shades in my collection that were similar. If you take a look at the picture below, you can see that I found three blushes that I thought were comparable. Where I stuck my finger in to the CARGO blush in the middle you can see that the shade is slightly different and that it really does match up to some of these colors.
L-R: Clinique Ginger Pop, Clinique Peach Pop, CARGO Los Cabos, Nars Orgasm
I would have to say of all these shades, I think Clinique Peach Pop is definitely the closest. Nars Orgasm seems to be the furthest away in terms of a dupe. Ginger Pop is similar but more orange-brown. I think the Clinique Cheek Pops have a similar sheen to the CARGO in general, whereas the Nars Orgasm is the most shimmery.
Regardless, all the blushes are so pretty! Do you have any blushes in similar shades to these? I’d love to know if there are more options.
