I am obsessed with tarte, and I am obsessed with concealer/corrector/under eye products, so naturally, I absolutely HAD to try the new Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector.
With only two color choices, light/medium, and medium/tan I was worried I would not be able to find a good color match. I opted for light/medium of course because I have a fair complexion.
This product promises to mask undereye discolorations and dark circles, the light-diffusing particles brighten undereye areas, and soften the appearance of fine lines while the color-correcting colored clay offsets the look of dark circles. It works to hydrate, condition, and smooth skin while helping improve skin tone and texture over time. Who would have known there were three types of clay in the mix here- rose clay to soothe the skin, yellow clay to diffuse the look of dark circles, and purple clay to reflect light and instantly brighten. Somehow, they magically come together and create the two shades this CC product is offered in!
I have to say, WOW, this is a tall bill to fill with all the things they claim this can do. The texture reminds me of Benefit Erase Paste- thick and almost sticky- but it applies like a dream. Because it’s in a pot/palette, you could possibly apply with a brush, but I do find it’s easier to dip my finger in. A little dab will do ya, and you hardly need any. I find myself using this under my eyes and around my nose and mouth as well. Those areas get red on me, so I need a little CC action there too!
I have found that if I use a teensy tiny amount (I can always add more) this works fantastically on me. I am surprised at how well of a color match I was able to find in the light/medium shade. I am curious how this will look as my skin gets lighter in the winter, but the peachy tones that are in this particular shade normally work to brighten on me even if it’s not a fantastic match for my skin tone. I like to set this with a powder, and if I use a little too much of this, it does crease. Like I said, a little goes a long way.
The top swatch is a thick painted stripe of this, and the bottom swatch that you can barely see, is it blended into my skin. It’s a pretty good match for me!
Will this replace my regular concealers and CC correctors? Only time will tell. For now, I am really enjoying this product. I am a huge fan of the colored clay line and will have more reviews up soon for other products with similar ingredients! Stay tuned!
What do you use on your undereye area? Do you have dark circles like I do?
