I’ve been testing out some fantastic Kiehl’s products for the last few weeks and today I am finally going to tell you about them! I am always on the lookout for a new, simple cleanser, and a new makeup primer. I have found winners in two of Kiehl’s new products lately and can’t wait to share!

First, the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash. This seriously meets ALL of my needs in a facial cleanser. I am so often left with tight, dry skin after washing my face, or feel as though my skin has been over exfoliated. This does none of those things. It is really gentle, while at the same time I can tell that it’s getting deep within my pores to lift away the impurities, dirt and oil. It is a gel like formula that lathers to a foam. It’s soap and paraben free!
It reminds me a lot of my favorite Clinique Facial Soap Mild, although dare I say I like the Kiehl’s a little bit better? I can smell a very faint scent of the calendula (an extracted oil from the marigold flower) which fades away shortly after using this product. Calendula also has soothing properties, which is awesome because my skin has been so reactive in the least week or so with this pregnancy. Everything I put on my skin stings lately!
The Kiehl’s cleanser is a welcome treat for my itchy and sensitive skin, and when I recently took a few days off of using it, my skin rebelled and I broke out terribly! I am happy to say things are back to normal now that I’ve continued its use, and my skin is much happier! I just noticed that there is a matching Calendula toner to go with this, so I will be checking that out next!
Now, let’s chat about the Micro-Blur Skin Perfector. I recently did a huge post on my favorite primers, and I am SO wishing that I had this one on hand at that time. It isn’t marketed as a primer, but since it’s meant to blur pores I feel like it fits the category well. It has become a favorite of mine in the last few weeks. As I age, I feel like filling in my pores before applying foundation is not really an optional step for me anymore. When my skin is feeling dry (which is always) my foundation never goes on well alone. I NEED a little something to fill in my pores and help the foundation glide on evenly.
The Micro-Blur Skin Perfector comes out a tannish color from the tube, and glides on my skin like velvet. Instantly, the texture of my skin improves and I am ready for the next step. It’s paraben-free, dermatologist tested, and non-comedogenic. It definitely improves the way my makeup looks on my skin makes me look fresher-faced and younger! Considering my 10 year class reunion is coming up next weekend, I’ll take it!
This can be used as the last skincare step day AND night, but I’ve been hoarding it for daytime use. It only comes with 1 oz. in the tube, and I’m trying to get it to last forever!
While I have your attention, I also wanted to let you know about Kiehl’s LifeRide. I was lucky enough to have been able to attend a super cool event this weekend to celebrate Kiehl’s 5th Anniversary of LifeRide- a twelve-day motorcycle ride to raise funds for HIV/AIDS research and help find a cure in our lifetime. Kiehl’s is donating up to $150,000 to amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, and from August 2-13, LifeRiders will stop at Kiehl’s stores along the way.
The ride launch was on Sunday out of Milwaukee’s Harley-Davidson Museum and it was SO cool to watch. My husband, my daughter, and I all got to watch them leave for their next stop, which was Chicago. The president of Kiehl’s had a motorcycle airbrushed JUST for this event and a matching jacket. I thought it was pretty cool. If you want to follow along on Instagram, Kiehl’s will be hashtagging everything #LifeRide5, so you can see what they’re up to! If you are on their tour, you should think about stopping. It is really cool to watch and have a chat with all the super nice Kiehl’s people!
You can see where they are stopping here– the remainder of their stops are in Chicago, Michigan, Ohio, and New York. It was such a cool event for a great cause and I felt very lucky to be able to go- most of these events are nowhere near me, and in LA or NYC so I was super pumped to attend.
I will leave you with a picture from this weekend at the WI State Fair of my husband and my daughter showing off their “tattoos”- now that we are off the topic of skincare and talking about motorcycles, I feel compelled to get even further off topic. Nothing reminds me of tattoos like motorcycles, and these two were totally rocking some tattoos together this weekend. If @wistatefair thinks we have the best #pufflove picture, we might win a lifetime supply of Cream Puffs and free state fair admission for life. Wouldn’t that be rad?
I hope you had a great weekend. Grab yourself some of those Kiehl’s products- they really are fabulous!
