I am always looking for affordable and quality makeup. If I can get the same effect for a little less, of course I would rather own 4 blushes for the price of a high end one! Who wouldn’t?! When I got the chance to try out some of mark. blushes and bronzers I was immediately taken back to my senior year of high school. I believe that’s when Avon launched mark. cosmetics. It was a great line then and a great line now! Read on to hear more.
I just love how chic these blushes are. They are called “Just Blushing” and I would link you, but they’re unavailable in the current catalog. I have six shades to show you!
From top to bottom: Kitten, Charmed, Lovespell
Kitten, Lovespell, Charmed
Of the six shades I have, these are the most wearable to me! I love Lovespell the most, it’s a really gorgeous cool pink that I think flatters my fair skin well. Charmed is also a lovely darker coral shade.
From top to Bottom: Dollhouse, Darling, Cameo
Dollhouse, Cameo, Darling
These three shades of blush are gorgeous as well but would work best for darker skin. If I want to wear Dollhouse, I have to use a super light hand because it is a very rich and dark pink. Cameo is a gorgeous nude that is a touch to dark for me as blush but I could get away with it as a contour. Darling is super pretty but made for skin that is much darker than mine. The luster of this shade makes me want to try and make it work, so maybe as eyeshadow! This is how the blushes come packaged. I’m unclear as to whether there is a palette I can purchase to put these in, but I would assume so! They are $9 each which makes them a steal because they are really nice and have decent staying power. I can easily get 6-7 hours of wear out of these, they are buildable for more intensity. There are lots of shades to choose from, so if you are on a blush bender, you can pick up several, guilt free!
mark. Glowdacious Illuminating Powder comes in three shades, and I have all three to show you! These are touted as a bronzer and highlighter in one. The three shades can be swirled together or worn individually depending on your preference!
Prettied Up is the lightest of the three shades.
Of the three shades in this palette, I would probably get the most mileage out of the highlighter shade.
When swirled all together this is what you get!
Shimmied Up is the middle shade.
These shades are warmer than the first palette. If I had a darker brown to add to the mix, I could see wearing these as eyeshadow!
This is what you get when you mix them all together! I don’t see a huge difference between the shade you get when you mix these together and the shade you get when you mix the Prettied Up together.
The last palette, the darkest, is the Amped Up.
Is it just me, or do the swatches all look the same?
Here’s what you get when you mix them all together!
The Glowdacious bronzers open on the bottom and there is a brush there for application! I wore Prettied Up and it did last on me throughout the day but was a little shimmery for a bronzer for my liking, and too dark overall for an illuminator. These little bronzer palettes are like eye candy for me and I really liked them in general. I think five years ago I would’ve been eating these up and wearing them constantly, but at 28 I prefer a matte bronzer personally. The darkest shade, Amped Up also seems very orange to me, so if you’re darker skinned and considering that shade, keep that in mind!
It’s been really fun rediscovering mark. makeup! I will have a review posted soon of some of their lip products so stay tuned! Anything in this post that you’d ever want to try? Let me know below!
