My complexion is important to me. I am always on the search for the latest and greatest foundations and powders. These are the products that are sort of “my thing” besides lippies. If you have young kids you are probably the same way. I need all the coverage I can get for my tired skin and always have a few powders going at once!
Today I wanted to share with you the new Inglot HD Pressed Powder. These are available in 5 colors that correspond to the colors in the HD Illuminizing Loose Powder collection.
The pressed powder is sold in a little plastic sleeve container, and the Inglot compact comes separately. You have to piece them together yourself. I actually really love the compact. It is so sturdy! I don’t think I have anything quite as sturdy as this in all of my collection.
I tried to pick it up a little bit in pictures, but I’m not sure that you’ll be able to tell. It almost looks like it has a grain over the top of the powder. I wouldn’t really call it a pattern but there is definitely some texture on the top of the powder. It’s not something that needs to be broken through, it’s just there and as soon as your brush hits it, you’ll have no problem getting the product out of the pan.
As for the formula, I’m in love. When I first got this, I put my finger in it just to feel what it was like. It was really silky but turned my finger bright white where I swatched it. I immediately thought I got the wrong shade for myself and thought as soon as I wore it I would look like a vampire. The shade I tried out was #402 for reference. After playing with it, I realized my mini freakout was all in my head and this is actually my perfect shade!
You can see where this is swatched on my arm above, and it blends right into my skin. The ingredients included here are premium silicone powder and diamond dust, perfect for hiding skin’s little imperfections. There are also film-forming agents to provide a smooth and long-lasting finish. It can also be used to film in high definition, and will keep the skin looking perfect, even on a big screen!
In my experience with this, it did really look nice. I was surprised that a powder that was only $18 would have such a nice finish. I am definitely a high end makeup girl and am used to paying top dollar prices for powder that is as nice as this formula. The day I got this I had to be somewhere important so I didn’t wear it. I don’t like to test products when I am going somewhere that they could fail me. The very next day when I tested this I was disappointed I hadn’t given it a shot, because it totally would have lasted through the event. I wore this in heat and humidity and it performed beautifully, and I suspect this will be added to my routine and replaced once it is gone!
