I will be out of town this weekend but thought I’d leave you with a little mini review and some swatches of these Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tints for Eyes. I got two of them at a recent Nordstrom sale so I’ll be showing you Biggest Blossom and Grandest Gold! These shades are the perfect sheer eyeshadow shades for summer.
If you are looking for a highly pigmented eyeshadow, look elsewhere. These go on pretty sheer but the color can be built up to about a medium intensity. You can draw on your lids with the pencil directly. The formula is lightweight and the shades have some shimmer. They are not super shimmery, it’s more of a glimmer. I think the way these look on the lids, aging eyelids that normally look best in mattes could pull these off well.
These don’t require sharpening. You simply keep twisting the product up. They are pretty long wearing and buildable, but I don’t know that I would use this as an shadow base. I think they are best for very minimal eye makeup looks, which is exactly why I bought them! I was thinking for the beach, or days I otherwise probably wouldn’t wear makeup I could have a little something on the lids.
Biggest Blossom is on the left and is a golden coral shade. I think it’s gorgeous! Grandest Gold, on the right, is a white pearlescent gold shimmer. Each of the shades above are swatched showing about three swipes of product, so they are built up a bit.
I think these are definitely worth checking out if you’re in the market for something easy and low key. When I went to buy these, I totally forgot I had been scoping out Ample Amber. That might be a purchase to make next time Clinique is in GWP. Also, If you make it over to the counter, check out their new Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum while you’re there. I don’t need skincare right now but I tried this on my hand and it felt divine. Five years in the making, and it looks like they nailed it.
Have you or will you be trying these? What’s your favorite Clinique product?
