I recently had the chance to try L’Occitane’s Néroli & Orchidée fragrance and today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the line! I have always really enjoyed L’Occitane’s products, and specifically their fragrances. L’Occitane’s Néroli & Orchidée fragrance comes in an Eau de Toilette, Body Milk, Shower Gel, Perfumed Soap, Candle, and you can apply the Fragrance Beautifying Cream to intensify the fragrance!
The first thing I notice about Néroli & Orchidée is how amazing and decadent it smells. It almost reminds me of my vanilla scents in a way because it’s a softer scent. I would describe it as a musky scent with some sweeter and floral tones. Normally, I go for very simple fragrances for every day, and this one is a bit more complex. I still think this is a very versatile scent that could be worn every day! It’s sophisticated, and would be great for work, date night, during the day, job interviews, and really any occasion you could imagine.
Top notes: orange, mandarin
Heart notes: neroli, peach, fig milk, lily of the valley
Base notes: orchid, musk, iris
The scents I pick up on most are the orchid and the musk, but when I really take a deep breath and try to figure out the complexity of the scent I pick up on a little bit of the lily of the valley and fig milk. I’m not a “nose” or a professional perfumer, so there’s always the chance that I’m smelling more than I know how to describe. But to the average consumer, this is a pretty accurate depiction!
One thing I was overjoyed to see in my box from L’Occitane was this Fragrance Beautifying Cream. I had no idea this type of product even existed, but it is pretty much my dream product to use in conjunction with perfume. It’s a way of enhancing your fragrance and helping it last longer. It is a very rich and satiny smooth cream that is meant to be applied to the neck and décolleté before applying a fragrance. It’s super fresh smelling and I almost thought it was going to claim to be unscented, but it actually does have a little bit of a neutral floral note to it. It can be used to enhance the fragrance of any of L’Occitane’s La Collection de Grasse fragrances.
I normally never buy the matching lotion to a fragrance, because I skip around so much with my perfumes that it will never get used up. In fact, I try to limit myself to a rollerball size of perfume because most fragrances would sour before I ever get the chance to use the whole thing. This is really the perfect solution for me, because it is still meant to intensify the fragrance and get it to linger longer, but I don’t have to commit to the matching lotion with the set. Brilliant!
Although I don’t normally buy the matching lotion to a perfume, L’Occitane nails it when it comes to their Body Milk. I’ve tried several of them in the past, and they are always very strongly scented, to the point where if you just wanted a whiff of the scent, you could get by on lotion alone. The Body Milk has a pretty thin and runny consistency and absorbs very quickly. It’s light and very moisturizing.
The Eau de Toilette comes in the most beautiful glass perfume bottle that anyone would be proud to display on their vanity. The design of the bottle is classy and fabulous just like the fragrance housed inside. The Eau de Toilette is my favorite way to wear the fragrance!
